H2OH2O: I use this stain colour all the time. It’s excellent and gives wood a nice colour. I use it on my crafting projects. It’s very easy to use. I use a cloth and brush depending on the wood.

Jenz Karta: I ordered this to renew our weathered wind chime wood pieces. Item arrrived quickly. Supper easy to work with and just the right color stain to appear Paduk wood color. Extremely happy with the results and also the clean up. Even when it dried on my skin, I was able to just use handsoap and water, a nail scrubber to clean up. Virtually fume free stuff to work with. Loved it.

anonymous: I used this product on an antique dining room table. It had some spots where the finish and color had worn off from years of use. The product covered great. I did use several coats to make sure the cover was even. I was a bit concerned when I received the tube of color because the color tag on the tube was a lot lighter than the color I wanted. However, after opening up the stain, it was perfect. It matched perfectly to the old stain on the table. It went on smoothly and coated really well. I had plenty left over. It was a bit thick, but overall, I was very pleased.

claudemyster: More brown than red and definitely NOT “crimson.” Also, the wax in MINWAX is waxy! Used it to try to stain a swamp ash guitar body. Because ash is more open grained than say alder, the wax gummed up the open grain in the wood and blocked up those natural patterns. I had to sand all the MINWAX off the piece and start over. I ended up using a few applications of RIT Cherry Red fabric dye and once I had the right depth of colour, I put a few coats of TRU OIL, buffed and polished it with two coats of wax and she is truly spectacular! Beautiful “crimson” red and the natural grain prominently stands out in all it’s American Swamp Ash beauty. Bottom line: don’t waste your time using this product on an open-grained wood if you want that feature to stand out in the end. It is more like painting than staining!

CraigCraig: After reading some of there reviews on here, I was concerned that this product wasn't going to work well. However, I have to say I was quite pleased with the results. I had an unfinished table top that was already sanded and had a nice wood grain to it. Based on some of the comments, I was afraid that the grain would have been "hidden" by this stain as if it was a paint. However, as you can see from the pictures, that is not at all the case. I used the Oak color which got a little darker than what the tube and website indicated, but I think that is really dependent on the wood.

I would warn users of one thing - when applying, work in smaller areas at a time. I did like the online product video showed and applied a zig-zag of the product on the entire surface (30" x 60"). By the time I made it to the second half, the product was starting to dry and left a faint darker line where it was originally applied. After drying, it got better and I am the only one who can notice it now. Either way, I'd recommend working in small areas at a time to prevent that from happening. For a small work surface, it probably doesn't matter much.

S: Love the dark walnut colour. Took a couple minutes to get the right movement so there's no blotches left behind so I would suggest starting on the bottom or a scrap piece to practice first. Once you try it though it's quick and easy to apply and dries quickly. The most important thing is to do even light coats. I did 3 coats on a side table I built and have a nice rich coloured finish.

ORB: We started a job with this product... It is very GOOD, simple to apply, very resistant. It became discontinued in most of the hardware stores, we found it here for a much higher price though. It is still a GREAT product.
