Neal Cutler: I normally like to research things like this by looking at the manual/instructions prior to purchase. None to be found on the MFG website (or any other website) for this. This was specified for the model of fan I had purchased, so I took a chance and ordered it. Upon receiving it, and reading the installation instructions, this requires 4-wire to go from the wall switch box to the receptacle box. My wiring is 3-wire, so I have no easy way to achieve this without tearing out sheetrock. I will be returning this, and lose the ability to dim the lights on the fan.

Hopefully, this information helps others in knowing this requires 4-wire cable. Likely works fine on new construction, or a remodel where you will have access to run the required wiring. Low rating based on lack of available information from Minka-Aire.
