The 371 was a drop in fit but needed to mount the separate control box. It's working well and I really like the increased speed of opening and closing.

Travis H.:
Mighty Mule has improved the design of the MM371W, and similar models, from what I had previously (MM360). The MM360 lasted 5 1/2 years, but it was slower, would fill with water, and I had to put bait inside the unit to keep ants out. The new model places all the electronics in a sealed container, and the antenna is now external, which allowed me to install it higher up, for better signal reach. I was happy to find that my old remotes still worked with the newer unit.
While I bought a larger 30W solar panel for the new unit (max size supported), my previous experience with two 10W solar panels was not excellent. In the Winter I would have to manually disconnect the battery and hook it up to a 12V car-battery charger, at least every one or two months. I have also replaced the 12V battery multiple times, as they don't seem to last more than two years for me on average. I highly recommend buying a 12V car-battery charger, if you don't already have one. Preferably one that can detect faulty batteries.
When the unit stops working, I can pull out the pin at the end of the telescoping arm, open the gate, and prop the arm up on my gate. If you can't easily...

Bikestore: Was replacing the old mule gate opener with a new one so all the brackets were already installed. Wiring was fairly easy. Took longest to setup the open and close function. At least for me it didn't work as quick or just like the instructions said. Used Youtube a little to help. After a few shows I had it. Even works with the older remotes!!!!! I'd recommend getting the extra warranty with all gate opener systems. Just my experience.

I had to buy this, as a replacement to a MM360 that I bought in 2018. The circuit board acted up, and of course, MM doesnt carry parts.....but were happy to sell a new one. (planned obselecense, anyone)? So now I have a useless MM360 that gets chucked in the garbage, and the 371 is its replacement which was twice the price.
This product is cheaply made and also has reports of fauly logic boards as well. I installed it, and because its different than the 360 was (even though its claimed to be a direct replacement), I had to drill more holes in the gates, and realign everything. Because the wiring is different with the board outside the unit, it was a complete rewiring job as well. And I look forward to MM deciding that they will replace this model in a couple of years, and not carry any other parts for it....but would be happy to sell me another one.
Dont buy this product. Look at the reviews for other products, they have a better record than these clowns and from what I udnerstand, stand by the product.

Howard B. Fitzgerald: This gate opener did not work properly right out of the box. The opener would not learn its limits. It also made a loud roar but at the time , I did not know that was abnormal. I called tech support for the next 5 weeks and it was an endless do loop of them treating me like some kind of trained pet. Do you have 12.5v. Can you make a jumper wire and do this and do that. I have a job and didn’t have time to do tricks for them. Finally with 5 days to go before my Amazon return free window closed, they agreed the control circuit board was bad and should be replaced. Did they offer to send me a new unit or a new board right away. No. I had to take the board off and send it to them and then they would send me a replacement board. By the way I didn’t mention, this unit was to replace a previous Might Mule 360 (which replaced the previous one that lasted 13 months) that had gone out after 18 months - so I had been without a working gate opener for going on 3 months. I was just wanting to get the opener working so I sent the the board on my dime. The board was received by Mighty Muke on a Wednesday. No response on Friday so I called their so called tech support....

the Shermeisterthe Shermeister: Bought the MM371 single gate operator in June 2020 to replace a MM FM350 that died after about 4.5 years. Had to make a slight adjustment to the mounting bracket attached on the gate post for it to work. Since the MM371 has a separate control box (it was built into the FM350 arm) I mounted it on a piece of 2" PVC pipe secured in the ground. There was no wire included to go from the power supply that plugged into the 120V outlet so I used the same wire I had used on the FM350 . This caused problem 1. The MM371 power supply outputs DC whereas the FM350 used AC, I didn't realize that. I got the polarity wrong so it didn't work until I figured out my error. Their instructions actually do mention connecting red and black wires, but there weren't any wires included in my kit, that would have prevented this error. The original unit also had a defect. The terminal block for the green and white wires from the operator had not been soldered to the board and came off when I attached the wires. After a long wait on hold tech support said they would send me a new PCB but since they were out of the boards for the MM371 they would send me one from a MM571 as they were the same....
