Ron N CPA: This battery was purchased for a Wayne Sump Battery Back-up system. In my set-up, I have a Wayne 120V pump as the primary pump and the battery system as a back-up. The battery system will only turn on if water rises and the main pump fails to clear the water. That said, this pump has not had to run during the past year. I am disappointed the battery failed. I had it checked at Battery Plus and they confirmed it failed. They also recommended using a deep cycle battery in my sump pump application.

kwcarguy: Update: These are 3 years old now and still work as well as when they were new. After another winter of sub-zero temps they read 97% in the spring!
I installed two of these in my RV and so far am quite impressed.
I am writing this review almost a year after the install because I was blown away by the complete lack of self discharge on these batteries.
I have them wired to a switch that cuts power to everything but the battery monitor and after 6 months of a long, pacific northwest winter in storage with extended temps in the single digits they are reading 98% charge still !
This is by far the BEST performance for self discharge rate over a winter of any battery I have ever owned. Including the much more expensive Optima blue tops in my boat.
These will be my "Go to" from now on.

Chris: I've been using this in my boat as an auxiliary battery to run 2 amplifiers (totaling around 1200 Watts).
On long days I usually break out a 50 watt solar charger for peace of mind, but it hasn't died on me yet.
I've pulled it out and brought it home to charge fully, just once, in 11 trips.
I don't expect it to last through too many seasons. I expect the extremely hot storage temperatures aren't easy on the battery, but so far so good.

After 2 years this battery is still performing well. That's relatively impressive considering it's been stored in a boat in Alabama for 2 summers and 2 winters. And considering it's been discharged to 0 at least twice. Probably under 50 percent SEVERAL times. But I've only needed to charge it 3 times with AC. The solar power has kept it going the rest of the time with considerable use. I'm considering buying another because I expect this battery to lose its usefulness soon. it has certainly endured some torture as far as batteries are concerned.
