RLT: Batteries assemble easily, good solid fit in chamber, nice bright beam. Sighted weapon sight to align with bore sight at 20 yards. With my set-up this put the weapon sight about 2" high at 2 feet. removed and replaced the bore sight and the beams continued to join nicely at 20 yards, so I know the bore sight is well centered.
Great product, highly recommend buying it.

Timothy B.: I have a number of MidTen Laser Bore Sights and this is the only one that has not performed flawlessly!
I tested this 45 ACP laser bore sight by marking the rear of the casing and rotating it in the chamber thru 90 degree intervals and sighting it at 10 ft. It performed consistently through the entire rotation. This bore sight is perfectly centered in and of itself. Unfortunately it wouldn't properly chamber in my S&W Shield 45. It always hit 3-1/2" to the right of center regardless of how I rotated the casing in the chamber... indicating that for some reason inherent in my pistol the bore sight was canted to the right in the chamber. I've noticed in reading other reviews of several brands of laser bore sights, that inability to properly chamber is very common in caliber 45ACP... I've yet to find any brand where this is not a documented problem in 45ACP. As noted previously, all my other MidTen Bore Sights in other calibers have performed flawlessly! Back to the drawing board for 45 ACP !

T. H.: I bought 2 of these, one for a .45 and one for a 9mm. The 9mm is dead on with my iron sights, the .45 is a hair to the right at just about 3 yards. Now this isn't much if you're up close for home defense, but anything further, that amount makes a big difference as you know. The dot is also oblong and oval shaped, not a round circle. So I emailed the manufacturer asking how they test the accuracy of their lasers and this was their response:
"Thanks for your email.

Our products have been calibrated and tested before sale, there is no need to adjust the accuracy.

As you need to sight in your weapon, you just need to put the laser bore sighter in the chamber and adjust your sights to the laser on the target.

I will say the response was very prompt and that is very much appreciated, but it was kind of a generic answer. Anyway, I guess it's still a useful product and I could just correct the left to right positioning with my iron sights, so maybe I shouldn't be so hard on them.
