Madison B: Packaged nicely and in great condition. My daughter has been begging for her own “square book” after renting this from our library. So happy I was able to find it at an affordable price and it came before Christmas!

Nannette A. Piasini: The book took a square and explored possibilities. Cutting. Wrinkling. Rearranging. Adding.

A young child's exploration of theme and variation. For a very young child someone who knows how to use scissors is needed.

Along with the book supplies were included with a pencil box to hold. 12" square scrapbook printed paper found at Wal-Mart. Blunt tipped scissors. Scalloped cutting scissors. Hole punch.

The children are not quite old enough for the projects in the book. They did enjoy having it read to them.

Sabrina: This is a very nice book for teaching shapes with young children. This books gives them lots of ideas for all the different types of things they can make with a square and where they might see squares and other shapes in their daily lives. I’ve used it when teaching shape with year 1.

CFB: Ever get into a discussion about nobody being perfect? or try to define perfection? This simple story of the perfect square takes that conversation to a totally new level... back to basics. Great for getting children to clarify their thinking in a discussion or debate, great for character education, a conversation about God and perfection... or just to give a geometry lesson a whole new twist!

Heidi Grange: I love this book. Hall has created a masterpiece with this one. Everything about the book works beautifully. The story and theme about dealing with the challenges that life can throw at you is spot on. The design of the book suits the story to a tee. The way the colors compliment each other and the creative illustrations add so much to the appeal of the book. Often one doesn't find a lot of character growth in a picture book, the story is often too short, especially if the characters aren't human. But here the square does grow and realize that change and challenge can bring joy. I highly, highly recommend this book. My students also really enjoyed the book. This could lead to some great art activities as well as a great read-a-loud.
