Amazon Customer: Picks up solder like a sponge and keeps it in the wick. Perfect for de-soldering parts from a pc board, as long as the parts are thru-hole. kind of wide for small diameter closely spaced parts. It works fairly well when i trim the wick to a wedge shape at 45 degrees. takes some practice to get it right but it will pick up the solder. Narrow tips on soldering iron work best when you turn up the heat and get in and off the part as quickly as possisble. Again, someone with de-soldering experience should have no problems.

Not Today: This solder wick is like night and day to cheaper alternatives. I used to use cheap solder wick, and never got good results with it. I thought I just didn't know what I was doing. This solder wick clears the solder from through-holes on PCBs with ease! It turned an almost impossible task into an absolute pleasure. I cannot recommend it enough.
