JHanlon: I have a preschooler and a child in elementary and after just a few days my husband was asking why we hadn’t purchased these ages ago. We’ve been using SkipHop placemats, which wash well and are highly durable, but it’s just an animal face. These are much more engaging and provide an opportunity for learning during meal times - when my children are satiated and happy and much more open to learning than say, any other random time of day. They wash well and the stick on the bottom is perfect. I saw another review that said something about beads falling off. The bottom of ours is a single layer of clear rubber. Pizza, salsa, and marinara sauce have yet to stain them. And they dry quickly. Will be ordering the more advanced ones as our children grow. For this purchase we got the 4 pack with shapes, colors, abcs, and numbers and a 4 pack with money, time, seasons, and calendar.

Daniele M.: Ottime tovagliette all'americana, acquistate per mio figlio di 5 anni, presentano foto e nome in inglese di diverse tipologie di animali. Perfette per imparare, mio figlio le legge sempre mentre mangia e ha già imparato tutti i nomi. Resistono bene ai lavaggi con spugnetta bagnata. Unica nota negativa le ventose presenti sul retro non sono molto antiscivolo.

C.Kalin: These are great for kids. 7 year old loves switching these up and learning different things. Being that dinner and kitchen table is a hang out time, it’s such a good learning tool! Sign language is new in the house, along with Spanish so we’ll def be looking for new ones. These are def durable, easy to clean and good quality.

Frederick: We needed a some decent placemats for our toddler to use at the kitchen table, and of course there are certain qualities a toddler placemat should have. Perhaps most importantly, they need to be large, non-toxic, and easy to clean. These placemats have received high ratings so we decided to try them, and we are very glad we did.

Here is what I like about these:

1) They are LARGE, which gives them good table coverage. Sure, they could be even bigger, but at some point they would become unsightly. These strike a good size balance.
2) They are non-toxic. I realize that's something you shouldn't have to say, but these days you can't be too careful.
3) They are completely waterproof and very easy to clean.
4) Their underside keeps them from slipping (well, sort of -- see below).
5) They are colorful, and having several different packs of these allows us to rotate them frequently to avoid monotony (both for our toddler and for us!). They are also available in a range of age-appropriate designs, from those that teach shapes and colors to ones featuring the periodic table.

I have only two small complaints:

1) I would like these to be a little more...

Sally Grimwood: Our kids love these, they are a good size and lovely quality. Having different pictures helps to keep the little ones at the table in their own space. The non slip backing seems to stop them slipping around. The mats are a little thinner than I hoped but they look pretty durable. Time will tell. As a busy foster family we do tend to get through a lot of mats - the supermarket board-based ones are a waste of money as they don't wash and usually peel within a few uses.

JW: This set of 4 children's placemats are exceptional. The pictures are fun and vivid, and they hold up! My son is not gentle on anything, and these do the job. They are a great size, so you can have a plate, bowl, cup and spoon on it with plenty of space for hands/arms. The back has a light rubber texture so the mat doesn't slide around. Hand washing it is easy, with all food coming off with just running under water. They dry well and stay upright. I would recommend these if you're looking for a quality set of placemats that will last!

MercyStreet: Very pleased with this set. This is the fourth brand I’ve tried and so far they’re holding up really well. They’re easy to wipe clean or wash with soap and water. The light texture on the back actually does grip the table and hold them in place (no more sliding and spills when the kids accidentally push them while getting up or sitting down at the table). Both my kids (age 3 and 6) enjoy the graphics. My oldest is even learning from them. They’re thick and firm enough that when my youngest tries to fold them (he’s a true test of any product’s durability) they are fairly resistant to his efforts. They’re also slightly larger than the ones I’ve tried in the past so they provide a little more coverage. I think these are a winner and worth the cost.
