Brittany Alexandria: This has been a lifesaver for my breastfeeding journey! I have a four week old who latches on the left side but absolutely refused to latch on the right. This nipple shield totally changed that and now he has no problem latching and staying latched. I like that it’s clear so you can see it fill up with milk. It’s also easy to clean and durable! I would also recommend buying one of these if your pregnant just to have on hand in case and to bring to the hospital with you!

Steph: Works well, as long a you apply it per the instructions provided. I noticed afterwards that this is more expensive than Shoppers Drug Mart and it doesn't come with a case which would have been useful.

Maggie Bell: These were a lifesaver. I used them for the first few weeks because of latch issues and later because of pain from thrush. They did not affect my supply negatively at all and made breastfeeding bearable when it would have been too painful otherwise. I tried these and the lansinoh brand - these fit me much better, were easier for my baby to latch onto, and felt softer and more natural. I felt like she took in way more air with the lansinoh ones, the silicone was unnecessarily thick, and they were constantly coming off while she was nursing.
I weaned her from the shield at around 4 weeks because I don't want to have to rely on it long term... they are inconvenient to carry around and use in public and it was becoming a hassle to keep up with them and keep them clean (I sterilized them every time I used one because of the thrush). It did take a little over a week to get her used to latching without a shield, but it wasn't a huge struggle to wean her from them like I was worried about. She is now 6 weeks and doing fine without it and her latch has improved on its own so I'm pain free. However, I do not think it would be unreasonable to use these for the duration of breastfeeding if...

Graham: Ordered this for my wife, who is pregnant. It arrived early which made both of us happy. It is exactly what she expected. She has tried it and it fits perfectly. This being our second child, she has used this type of shield before and it works great, so there is no doubt that this one will work just as great!

Kristopher Schriock: The lactation specialist sent me home from the hospital with one of these as we struggled to latch properly on one side in the hospital. This allowed my baby girl to nurse in the first few weeks without having to pump and bottle feed or supplement. I was worried that it was working too well - I called it the "cheat" because it seemed to make it too easy for her... She went from using it on one side the first couple of days to using it on both sides for a couple of weeks. I didn't have any issues with it affecting my milk supply, they're just inconvenient to place, wash, sanitize, etc., especially when nursing anywhere besides home (which is why it's worth it to have extras, so you're not washing after every feeding, especially in the middle of the night). After about 2 weeks I would let her get started with the shield then remove it when she'd pause for a break. Sometimes she'd fall for it, other times she'd fuss until I put it back on. After several days of this eventually got the hang of nursing without it and we've been shield-free ever since!

I think an unintended positive side effect is that these eased some of the pain associated with nursing in the early days. The...

Diana: I love these nipple shields!!! I have flat nipples and my baby couldn't latch on. The nurses gave me a couple of these shields at the hospital and it was the only way the baby could nurse. As time went by, I'd occasionally try to give her a bare breast, but it was too frustrating for both of us, so I gave up. It's been 4 months now and we're still going strong with the shield. It has made breastfeeding possible for us! I'm so grateful these things exist. I've had no supply problems at all. I started pumping from the beginning, just to build up a stash for rainy days, and then had to go back to work soon so I've been pumping in addition to nursing all the way through. Maybe that has helped with my supply, but the shield doesn't seem to have hurt at all. I have gallons and gallons in the deep freezer. The baby has no problem latching and nursing now, no problems with let down or anything. I can't tell if she swallows more air with it… With a couple of good burps she's all set either way. A few points mentioned in other reviews:

- Washing. Yes, you have to wash it between uses, which is why it's great to have several. I got 2 from the hospital and then bought 2 more. That...
