AchintAchint: My doctor recommended me to take Methyl folate and vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) which usually are taken together. To make matters confusing methyl folate is also known as L-Methylfolate, L-5-Methylfolate, MTHF, L-5-MTHF, but they are the same thing as far as a supplement is concerned.
This bottle comes with a normal twist cap (not a childproof cap.) These are two-piece hard-shelled capsules but easy to swallow. I did not feel any after-taste with these pills. The shells for these capsules seem to be gelatin-free and made from vegetable derivatives since the bottle mentions Vegetarian Capsules.
Methylfolate would usually be recommended if the Doctor suspects methylation issues with the body or the MTHFR gene test shows a gene mutation. Methylfolate plays an important part in methylation and issues with production of methyl folate can result in several problems.
I had been using methylfolate from other company which were more expensive ProHealth Methylfolate with Quatrefolic (15 mg - 60 capsules) . But I have been using these capsules since these are ore closer to the amount prescribed by my doctor.

Heather J: I originally started using these after over-hearing one of my doctors saying they used it to help re-build (regenerate?) the nerves to the hands. After high doses, for 4-6 weeks the carpal-tunnel-like symptoms to my hands & wrists diminished significantly. I do have to take a maintenance dose like 3 times a week but HEY wayyyy better than surgery! Right!
