Annisha ThomasAnnisha Thomas: I really do love it when I actually get a great product from Amazon, and can truly leave an honest review, with actual hopes of being able to help someone make a decision regarding their purchase. I ordered the Max and Lilly High loft bed about four months ago. I knew I wanted to hold off leaving a review in order to really be able to test the product. I started the process of redecorating my daughters bedroom, from top to bottom, and the first thing on the agenda was to find a high loft bed that, 1. Came with storage shelves, 2. Came with a desk, and 3. Had a great price. I am happy to report that the Max and Lilly High loft bed hit the mark in each way. I searched and searched for the perfect high loft bed, I found plenty that came with a high price tag, at least 8 or 900 bucks, and all the more affordable ones didn’t look as good, or looked flimsy, had horrible reviews or didn’t have a desk but had shelves, didn’t have shelves but had a desk. This loft bed is super sturdy. My daughter has a thin frame, but her and her brother both sleep in this bed all the time. She also just had a sleep over and her and two girls all slept in this bed. I don’t sleep...

C. HockadayC. Hockaday:
Thoroughly pleased! My baby boy 5, loves his new big boy bed. The bed came in two boxes, one long one around 150lbs and a box for the desk, around 30lbs. I purchased the Clay.
I have been in search of a suitable bed for my child for a few months and I choose this bed for a few reasons
1.Solid wood, most of the contenders were not solid and had particle board, I considered the DONCO Kids Low Study Loft Bed, Dark Cappuccino for reference
2.Weight limit, this has a 400 lb weight limit that he can grow into and I don’t have to worry about it breaking down
3.No Proposition 65 Warning
4.Neutral color, he has a dark wood chest of drawers and this fit in with existing decor
5.Desk & storage included as he has a small room
It took two days for install, started on Sunday afternoon at 30pm, finished at 9pm, had whole bed installed except for desk. I took wine breaks lol. Desk installed next day and took 20 minutes. Only needed help to connect side rails, everything else I was able to do on my own because I am a beast at all things. All hardware/wood was accounted for before install and that took some time as well. Instructions...

Jen W.Jen W.: Please, for the love of all things holy, do not underestimate how tough it *could* be to put this thing together if you are not carpentry-inclined. It was soo tough for me to put together. I'm not real handy but I've put together a ton of furniture from Amazon.
It would be very helpful to have another pair of hands available. Also, hopefully you have some sand paper, an electric screw driver, a rubber mallet, and preferably some wood glue handy.
I had to actually sand many of the wooden dowels down and smash them into their holes. After that didn't quite do it (had the wrong sand paper) I then had to redrill the holes with my screw driver.
Some of the slatting on the headboards also would be easier to hold in place with wood glue while you attach the base pieces on.
Overall though, my daughter is totally in love with this new bed and so am I. Once you get it together and up, really make sure to tighten the bolts. Use the longer part of the L wrench to tighten, so you can get more grip on it. It will make the bed really sturdy.
Height: I think our ceilings are 8 ft and this bed gives plenty of sleeping room up top, while also...
