Thomas: If you have a lower-intermediate level of Russian - this is just the book for you. It is full of useful, everyday vocabulary and scenarios. If you have learned basic Russian, this is an ideal book to boost your vocabulary and speaking ability. It doesn't fall into the trap of teaching you words, that you don't need to know. It is a very practical and useful resource. Also there is a parallel text, which cuts down on trying to find vocabulary from a long list and means that you really understand the dialogues. Highly recommended!

Dancing Quill: When you flip through this book it almost gives the impression it's for beginners, which is what I need. But upon further observation it clearly is for someone who can already speak a good bit of Russian. It's worth keeping for when I get to that point, I'm just not there yet and don't know when I will be. The book itself seems a little dry because it's just pages of dialog, but there is a lot of value in this. Dialogue is actually used and reused, and repeated nearly verbatim in a ton of situations. If you learn the dialogue you could easily have a conversation and nobody would know you don't know anything outside of that dialogue lol.
I would recommend this to someone who is already speaking the language, but wants to be more native.

Carlos R. P. Tolosa: Tem um rico vocabulário nos diálogos. Oferece varios diálogo típica do cotidiano. Não é romanizado, portanto o leitor tem que base de alfabeto em russo para acompanhar os diálogos. Recomendo a todos

Wild Justice: If you have AT LEAST 6 months of Russian under your belt, and ideally about 12-15 months, you'll be ready to tackle this wonderful book. Have gradually worked my way through it 6 or 7 times, and know it'll be my constant companion in the years ahead. The book is so good, in fact, I have both the print and digital versions, plus the audio version (highly recommended).
The book contains some words here and there which are not really suitable for beginners (beef jerky, Snickerdoodle, etc.) but for the most part the dialogues are very entertaining and well suited to A1, A2 and B1 students. In fact, the more time you spend with the book, the more you realize how much thought and care went into it. The English translations are very accurate.
Overall, this is a magnificent work of pedagogy. If you put in the effort to master these dialogues, you will be richly rewarded.
Am really hoping the publishers have volume two in the works.

Erik: The situations and sentences are useful, the quality of the book is great. However, there's a massive missed opportunity here by not having both translations on the two pages you have opened at that time. Right now you have to flip back and forth endlessly which reallyyy slows down any learning process.
Would I recommend it? I'd say maybe; if they fix that issue with a new version then definitely

RPA: This is an excellent book for learning Russian IF you already have an intermediate knowledge of the language. If not, this book is way over the head of any beginner. The conversations are good, very colloquial, and useful to anyone who has gone beyond the basics.
This book, however, has some serious problems for beginners:
1) There are absolutely NO grammar explanations of any kind (cases, perfect/imperfect verbs, etc.). The only grammar "instruction" would be trying to figure out principles based on context, a notoriously ineffective way for any language, especially a highly inflected language like Russian. The argument that this is the way children learn language is irrelevant unless you have someone to correct you and you want to take twelve years learning to carry on a conversation.
2) The syllable to be stressed is not marked in any way. With the erratic shift of stress in Russian, this is a real problem, even for a learner who has gone beyond the absolute beginner level. Stress often shifts even in the same word (depending on its case and number). The student risks pronouncing words incorrectly and sounding silly.
3) The would-be student must also have a...

Rarity: The dialogues are very readable, and sometimes very funny or surprising. They're not dull like a lot of dialogues and reading materials for language learners can be. They use colloquial language and are plausible conversations that any person might have. The only thing I don't really like about it, and the reason it's not five stars, is that some of the language they use in the book seems a bit more American than I think it should be. It's hard to explain exactly what I mean - just that some of the colloquialisms and ways of phrasing things make me wonder if it would actually sound odd to say it that way in Russia. For example, in some of the dialogues someone says "Веселись" meaning, "Have fun!" And I wonder if that's something that Russians would actually commonly say. I wish the book addressed this more, and maybe in future books Lingo Mastery could add a bit of an idiom or grammar section.

Li Zi Ou: I really like this book as it provides 105 real life conversations you may need to use from going out or just talking with friends. This is excellent for learning vocabulary in context- which is key for making vocabulary really stick in your mind. It contains conversations for beginners(A1) all the way to more advanced learners(B1) so this book really has something for everybody no matter what level your Russian is at. I also appreciate how the conversations are marked as A1, A2 etc. so you know what level the conversation is. This book could also be used in practicing with a native speaker as there are always two people in the conversations. You could have them read one part and you read the other. This will greatly boost reading, speaking and listening skills all at once. I would recommend use if this book with the book 2000 most common Russian words in context also by LingoMastery. These two books are sure to boost your confidence in Russian in no time!
