Matt: Before buying this I tried adding vaseline to the impeller but it didn't help. I was going to buy a whole new filter but decided to try this. I'm so happy I did. It came in the mail after two days from my order, I replaced the old impeller with this one, turned back on the filter and no noise (other than water running through the filter). Considering this is the only moving part in the HOB filter it's a cheap and easy fix to keep this thing running for years to come. I assume I'll have to buy another one at some point but I most certainly will.

Steph: My filter had completely failed and I considered a new filter system to replace it. I opted instead to replace the impeller in hope that it was all that was needed and it worked like a charm. I didnt even realize how much suction the unit had lost over years of use but this worked great and is moving water like new again. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend.

Amazon Customer: These are color coded, look at the color of your impeller and order according to the color of the one in your aquarium filter. Mine was making a ton of noise and when i replaced the impeller it is now as quiet as a mouse.

seriosbrad: Have you been running your Penguin 350 filtration for several years and it's now making grinding noises? Purchase this replacement, or two. It's quite costly, but there aren't any alternatives.

Once I got the replacement part, 2nd one, it works amazing! Should have done this years ago. Can't remember the last time the filter was so quiet. Great flow!! Bringing new life into the system!!
