Marineland Magniflow Canister Filter: Maximum Aquarium Filtration with Easy Maintenance

Client d'Amazon: I bought this filter to replace my Fluvial 306. For time of use I loved the magniflow 360 but during a move, I lost 1 piece. I went to their website and saw that the part was sold out. I wrote to the after sales service, no return after 8 emails I finally get a return. They tell me that because of the covid there are delivery delays. The covid has come and gone since then and I still haven't received the part. Call the service department, no answer. I'm trying by e-mail, still no answer. I try to leave a comment on their site, but the comment is not displayed. So I recommend this product because it works very well but don't lose any parts and I hope none of your parts break.

hotwork: This thing seemed overkill when I was setting it up. Now it just seems perfect. Priming is supper important and messy. You fill it up most of the way then use a funnel to fill up one of the hoses held high in the air. Then put on the end, put in the tank, and turn it on. Let it get started then gently tilt it to get the trapped air out. One thing is that the gasket must stay clean prior to install and the shape of the gasket made me want to flaten it out but thats not nessessary. Just get it up on there without twist or pinch and it works great. I left my hoses long in case I want to move the pump. Be careful not to kink the hoses. Running hot water over the ends helps them push onto thier connections. The connections on the pump are gently snugged up by hand and then a fracton more with pliyers. Don't need to be supper tight. These nuts just keep the hose sealed onto the hose barbs.

Jimmy: I think I can pee in a cup and fill it faster then this product. I thought it would pump a lot more water out then it does. I keep opening it thinking it’s clogged or something. Nope. I guess it’s just the way it runs. I should have spent the extra 100 bucks and got the better brand. Added 2 large sponge filters just in case it’s not doing much. :(.

My amazon product experienceMy amazon product experience: Definitely worth the money!showed up early too! Even though I was puzzled to why the bags in the canister where already ripped and the canister clearly has water marks in it and was dirty with this silvery glitter…. Easy to clean but Was it used? Nonetheless I hooked up this canister with 3 pouches of “seachem purigen” and in less then 6 hours is was already seeing results! If you need a canister filter don’t hesitate to purchase! My tank setup is a 24x24x24 60-65gal and is technically over capacity.

PAPi of four: Love the pump capacity and filter media, it's solid. The issue we had was the set up -after assembly. I had my 14 year old teen help and "run with it" since it's his fish tank. Everything was sooth and instructions are OK, but he needed help real quickly after set up, since it "din't work" Here's the tough part, we cold not get it to work due to the air bubbles (air lock). 1st the instructions never tells you to fill in the canister with water, it said to "prime it" until water comes out the outlet hose. If we have done this (fill it with water) it would have helped tremendously (duh for us), second you have to wiggle the intake hose while pushing the "primer button" to get the bubbles out. Just be careful not to break or loose any seals on the hoses. Keep jiggling the hose gently and press the red primer button in a smooth and steady motion (not fast), you'll get the right mode and the bubbles will come out. Don't forget, fill the canister with water, prime it and gently wiggle the hose to get the air bubbles out.
Outside of this the pump filter has worked great and we have nice clean water. it seems easy to clean and maintain.

Tony Manila: I have purchased the Magnaflow canister filter after a great research! I replaced my two HOB filters on my 50 gallon African Chiclid tank. It is so quite I have to check it a couple of times to see if it is running! 😅 My African Cichlids and live plants are very happy and the water is very clear! The initial setup was a breeze!

Very satisfied with my purchased and it arrived in a couple of days from the seller!

R. Oneill: This is a nice sized low cost under the tank filter.
After running just a day or two the tank looks significantly cleaner than with the previous top mount filter.
It is super quiet and has a great flow for the tank which not only helps keep the tank cleaner but is healthier for the fish to have a slight current.

My only two complaints:
The tank mounting tubes are really flimsy plastic and the discharge in particular has a single outside tank suction cup to hold it on. This was a problem for my tank as I had a back screen I had to cut thru to allow it to reach the glass.

Second complaint is that it uses these small replaceable carbon bags. If it wasn't for these the entire filter element would last 3+ months and would be washable/ renewable, especially with a plant-fish in the tank. I know carbon filters make it look good right away because there is no biosystem that needs to build up. I am trying to figure out a way to design them out with a different filter element.
