The carbon in these leaked in the package causing a black mess for storage. Be sure to store extras in another bag or somewhere you don't mind it getting messy. Filters themselves work great.

I use these for a small Marineland tank I have in my office and they always work very well.
They're much cheaper on Amazon than my local pet stores.
Just a good rinse before initial use and then I rinse them every 3 or 4 weeks and they're good to go again.
They really keep the tank nice and clear.
no more dealing with trying to refill cartridges and dealing with the mess.
