An Informed Reader: A great short story for kids about one of the greatest musicians we have. Simple and easy to understand, and it tells the truth about his life in a respectful way to the subject and the children reading about him.

Ash: This whole collection of books are simply amazing! My son doesn't like reading and it's been a struggle to get him to focus and be able to finish any books. That was until we found the Little People, Big Dreams collection. He is officially hooked, and has now read multiple books. He loves how detailed and easy to follow and read along the books are, and the illustrations on the books are eye catching and very colourful. The books teach children so much about the names person on the book, and even I was learning things i'd not previously knew about celebrities. Amazing and will definitely be ordered more soon.

Vickie: A story so well told and explained clearly to a younger audience that explains who Elton John is and the resistance he has been met with in his life, how he overcame prejudice and turned this into one of the most successful careers ever. The illustrations in the book are wonderful too. A sad sad situation turned into one incredible journey!

BeatleBangs1964: The Little People Series is a Godsend and I just love the series. This book is no exception to the high standards and clearly laid out format of the other books.
Elton, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in 1947 is a phenomenal musician. He legally changed his name to Elton John in 1972.
In the Elton John biography, readers are treated to the journey of Elton's life starting when he was a boy and just sat down at a piano and played an entire waltz by ear. By age 15 Elton started his own band, Bluesology and in time he would team up with Bernie Taupin and become a musical partnership that would become world renowned.
The illustrations are lovely. I like the ripply piano keyboard and Elton's flamboyant costumes that bring Elton to young readers. Elton was known for his outlandish outfits and at a 1975 concert dressed up in a Donald Duck costume. Elton was famous not only for his incredible talent, but for the thousands of pairs of glasses and shoes he owned. Queen Elizabeth II was also impressed with Elton and knighted Sir Elton Hercules John in 1998 for his contributions to art, music, donating large sums of money for AIDS research and charity.

PChapmanAuthor: I am Elton's biggest fan, so when I saw this, recommended by someone on a Facebook group, I had to get it to read it to my 7-year-old daughter. I've been trying to get some family converts to like Elton too. LOL. This is a good brief description of some of his life, for kids, done very well. It is one of a series of "famous people" kids' books that hold lessons of success and life for children. I recommend it. Will have to buy more!
