Bill J.: I liked how the drawings were simplified and styled to appeal to a youngster, depicted DB's "different" energy and imagination as youngster, and showed how these traits helped him become a successful grown-up. The drawings of human-figures throughout the pages, though "boiler-plate," showed the British peoples' flair for fashion, as part of DB's surrounding culture. At one place the book opens to a collection of different guises DB used to depict different personas, but even on a comic book character, they have a laughable realistic likeness.

LucindaLucinda: The English version seems to be a little bit easier, and less information in words, although the drawing for each page is the same. I have also checked the sample pages for Deutsch Ausgabe, each sentence has been translated quite differently, I thing that is odd. The reason for me to choose an English version, it‘s only because it‘s a little bit cheaper than the German one. Although the one I‘ve got it‘s an English children‘s book, the layout, the size, structure and texture are just like german nursery book. I was thinking something like, there are both International primary school and Gemeinde Grundschule here, if kids are getting English education and use English to learn other Subject (Fachen), kids will be less informed in this way, and also the oral speaking is not similar as kids are getting educated in British Isles.

Kristen F: Love David Bowie... just can’t get over how so many people overlooked (prior to publication) the fact that his left eye was not brown, it was just dilated.
And to the disappointed woman that said the book was not child friendly due to the fact that it mentioned fighting? Really? I’m quite certain it is a great example of why children/folks should not fight, as It shows how a temporarily feeling/situation resulted in a life long consequence. Additionally, one of his alluring attributes was his eyes, so it makes complete sense to discuss it. Maybe you should stick to Dr. Seuss’s goofy fiction tales.

Blattwender: Bunte Kleidung, lange Haare, Ohrringe, schrilles Make-Up.

liz7435: I preordered a copy of this book as soon as I saw it available. It’s not everyday you see a Bowie children’s book so it was a must for us. The book shows Bowie’s life as a young child growing up in an ordinary household in London who had big dreams. He stayed true to himself and his interests and eventually became the music icon that he is. Sadly, he is gone but he’s made such an impact that he’ll never be forgotten.
My daughter, a book lover already at her young age was excited when the book arrived earlier today. We love these Little People, Big Dreams books and can’t wait to add more to her ever growing collection.
