steve t.: True to its reputation, this little clock is the perfect time piece for your desk or night stand. Constructed with a durable plastic frame and a clear plastic face plate cover, this clock feels quite sturdy all around. It requires two AA batteries which are included with this model. (Note: it came with two alkaline batteries which I swapped for carbon zinc.) The alarm works well enough and is sufficiently loud, however, there is no setting to choose between AM and PM; the alarm will ring twice at the same time during the day if not deactivated prior by pressing the small, red button in the downwards position. Next to the alarm button is the longer snooze/light function. This unit has a built in light sensor that can be easily activated or deactivated by a switch on the back. The nightlight glows softly emitting a warm light making the entire face plate clearly visible even in the darkest room. Very accurate and precise clock with no ticking sound or any other sounds that may disturb sleeping and quietness. I most definitely recommend this model clock.

Lydia Smith: This is so fun. I feel very 1985 having an analog clock next to my bed, but it’s great. Feels well made with precise time keeping. Alarm is great. I love the amber night light setting. And it looks sort of nautical. Great purchase.

Joe: This is really nice alarm clock, the sweeping seconds is really cool and very quite. I am a lover for mechanical wrist watches and this one looks as close as possible to that. The bad thing is that it is not easily readable when you look at it for a split second at night or early AM. There are 4 hands on the dial!!!! An alarm clock just need 2 hands and they should look very different from each other for easy read. I am going back to digital LED alarm.

Brinkman: This clock is worth the money and appears to work fine in the month or two that I have owned it. The biggest problem is its face. The hour and especially the minute hands are too thin to see in the dark even when using the backlight switch-- I sometimes have to look at the face sideways in the middle of the night to figure out where the minute hand is. This is further complicated by the inner circle of time marks, which obscure the thin hands further yet are there to help set the alarm (but they say the best way to set the alarm is to turn it on and rotate it to the time desired, so that bypasses those marks).

I may try opening it up to black out that inner circle with a permanent marker, since it is otherwise a good, silent clock.

Rick: I like it. It is accurate. I have mine set with the nightlight feature. That is for it to illuminate when the lights are out. The minute hand is sometimes a little hard to pick up in that situation. If I can't read it real well with sleepy eyes, I just touch the top so it goes into full illumination and I can read it perfectly then. Touching the top will turn the light on full brightness. The nightlight feature, the light is much softer, maybe half of full brightness. Another thing I like, after you touch it to turn the light on, it glows for about 5 seconds, then slowly dims then shuts off. Of course, the fact that it doesn't have that quartz, second by second tick is a big plus if you value quiet (I do). It has a smooth, silent sweeping second hand like an automatic watch. Very happy with it.

Richard Davis: I recommend it, highly. Bought this specifically for travel, it fit the bill. I wear glasses, and come from a time when analog clocks were common. For me, this is fast & easy to read. It's now on my nightstand, more or less permanently.

Initially it worked as expected: perfect size, easy to see analog face, nearly silent operation. After a couple of weeks, it developed the erratic operation others reported. I inspected it closely and found the adjustment crown (shaft) was still partially in alarm adjust position. When pulled out in mid-position (free running, no time/alarm adjust), it worked perfectly. It's easily bumped back into adjust mode, especially coming out of a tightly packed suitcase. There's very little distance of movement, I can't tell what position it's in by appearance. I need to give the crown shaft a twist while looking at the face, and see if anything moves. You can't tell what mode it's in by expecting the hands to freeze like older analog clocks. The hands often keep moving while you're adjusting it.

Here's a quick test-grab the crown (red adjust shaft) on the back and spin it. If the alarm or the clock hands follow your turns, return the...
