Get your hands on the ThinkGeek Star Wars Death Star Waffle Maker today and start making delicious waffles! Burgundy Damsel: This waffle maker is delightful. It takes four to six minutes to cook a waffle, depending on how dark you like them, and definitely works best with thinner batters. (Think about halfway between standard waffle batter and pancake batter.) Not great for chunky batters with oats or chocolate chips or anything in them. The waffles bake up really well - you definitely know you're eating a death star and the ridges are great for catching butter and syrup. (The whole point of eating waffles, right?)
I have owned professional-grade waffle irons and this isn't one. If you're looking for the precision, control etc. of an industrial grade, you'll be disappointed. If you just want really great, awesomely geeky waffles, you're golden!

Rissa: It takes trials and errors to get the waffle mixture correct to create the perfect waffles. And when you do, they come out perfect! They are really large so we only make one per person.
This machine seems to not get hot enough so it takes the waffles forever to cook. I suggest start them first and then moving on to the rest of your meal.
(Tip-When cooking the waffles, when no more steam comes out of the sides of the iron, the waffle is done.)

BrianBrian: Love this waffle maker - my young Sith Apprentice loves to help make breakfast. He now reserves his exploitation of the force for darker causes, and leaves the breakfast prep to the waffle maker. The exhaust port design flaw seems to have been remedied in the waffle form of the death star, as we find the waffles maintain excellent integrity upon syrup application. Galen Erso does seem to have been triumphant as no delicious death star waffle remains upon serving to a herd of hungry stormtroopers. I do wonder if Galen had some Belgian engineers involved, as the waffles produced by this maker are of the thicker, cakier variety. All around, with both Sith and Jedi pleased with results, balance has been restored to the force. If only it happened in time to save Alderaan.

Bill: This makes some nice waffles, I must say. It cooks evenly and quickly just like any other good-quality waffle maker. The unique design doesn't compromise the waffle integrity at all. In fact, the center trench is a convenient spot to start cutting it up. Kids love it too, and even though they gradually lose the excitement of the uniqueness they still ask for Death Star Waffles by name.

SCbelle20: Disclaimer: I said "dorks" with love, so don't bother coming after me.
My son insisted on getting this for my boyfriend's birthday gift as we are a big bunch of brunch-loving nerds who adore Star Wars *and* waffles. In fact, we have a running game wherein if someone says "pancake" or "waffle" you are allowed to jump on them and try to smush them as flat as the aforementioned food. Thus, the perfect gift from a ten year-old to a forty-something. ... Yes, you have to experiment with the batter a bit (we like the one from the Better Homes & Gardens cookbook), and it takes a bit of time to make a platter of waffles. BUT you get to destroy the Death Star and drown it in syrup! What's not to love?
My son was thrilled to give this gift. My boyfriend was delighted to receive it. I was happy to eat waffles.
