Debbie Carminati: Our daughter requested this book, she said it was a page turner and couldn’t put it down

Nicola23:
I read Lynda Bellingham's other autobiography called 'There's something I've been dying to tell you' and I am quite disappointed with this one as that one was so good! Didn't really thrill me like some other celebs books do. Don't get me wrong I think she is an amazing woman and I am sure her novels are good but this just didn't entertain me. She had a good upbringing despite not been with her maternal parents. She had two horrendous marriages and I am glad she met Michael when she did as she deserved some happiness.
Like I say wasn't as thrilling as I expected but still worth a read.

mary neville: A brilliant book, I'm so glad I got it. Lynda's life was certainly eventful. It is so sad that she has left us.

InkedOnCulture: Fantastic book, and the first book, in a long time, that I've read without wanting to put it down. This book is not exactly what I would call an enjoyable book. It's full or pain, anguish, tormoil, heartache, fear and more. The reason I give it 4 star instead of 5 stars is because I found that the listing of actors etc when discussing her projects became overwhelming and confusing, but the story of her personal life off the stage as well as a handful of her projects were harrowing (but brilliant). It's certainly not for the lighthearted. I found I could hear Lynda's voice, which considering her recent departure, I found both reassuring and a little uncomfortable. I think if you have a love for auto/biographies, you really should read this one.

Mrs H:
I liked this book very much and found the story of Lynda Bellingham's life very sad. Before she met Mr Spain she had two of the worst husbands who did her down in the worst possible way. The first one could not have sex with her because she was not a tart and therefore the marriage was never consummated and the second,Mr Nunzio hang your head in shame, bullied, berated and beat her up. No wonder she was drinking.
However, she does manage to work and get great parts along with ensuring her sons were fed and clothed and loved among the maelstrom of the abuse from her second husband, and his attempt to cow her - which he succeeded in doing!
It is not until we are introduced to her Mr Spain that some sort of tranquility enters her life and she finds her happy ever after, which she deserved so much.
She certainly put on a good face over the years as the together actress and had the me fooled but she comes across as a fine woman, a kind daughter and friend. This was a great read and I recommend it.

LindyLouMac:
An actress whose work I have followed with interest over the years so although I do not normally read many autobiographies when this was recommended by a friend I decided to give it a go. This autobiography is an interesting and sometimes raw account of Lynda Bellingham's life. Where with brutal honesty she shares her life experiences, adoption, sexual appetite and the mental abuse she suffered till she found herself and happiness at the age of sixty. Her warm personality and much needed sense of humour show through in her writing.
At times this book is a little harrowing with some strong language, at least she has not written about a sugar coated dream life but a horribly realistic one. Lynda Bellingham is a very strong woman who has written about surviving the tough times she has already faced and sadly is now currently facing another major obstacle in her life in the form of cancer. Wishing her all the best in this latest battle which she is struggling to overcome.
I would recommend Lost and Found My Story to fans of this actress if you can face the home truths she writes about.
