Better than pouch, put in the oven to reactivate.

Chris: I read the single star reviews after the purchase and if I read I would have held off. The desiccant was not spent. The cannisters were individually sealed and again both cartridges were sealed again and finally an additional wraping. Well packed. They well be placed in a confined space of maybe cubic foot. I rated the product only 4 stars as it is too soon to determine the efficiency and life span.

Annie Neidert: These things are to keep humidity under control in 3 cu ft. That’s not a large area, but it’s perfect for my document’s fireproof safe. I bought this 2 pack and put them both inside. It’s been a while (over a year!) and they were deep green or black when I checked on them. I took both boxes and opened them. Then I dumped each box into a loaf pan (like you use to make banana bread) and put both pans in my Air Fryer for 30 minutes at 200°. The beads came out bright orange. The Air Fryer is a convection oven, and I used the Dehydrator setting for more air flow. I think people are having problems because they are keeping them in the original container when. They try to dry them out. Give them room to breathe and air out. Then I made sure the plastic “windows” were secure on the boxes - lost one, so used clear tape on both sides - and put the beads back inside. I also secured each box with a rubber band for extra protection. I like these. I’d buy again if needed.

Engineer: This is a reusable silica gel canister. It's cheap.
Silica gel isn't for all situations. It's good for closed containers that aren't opened frequently. It is slow to adsorb (yes, adsorb, it does not absorb).
The containers are good. The gaps in the joints are a non issue. It requires a ton of force to split the halves at least on the set I got. I swapped the silica gel out for 3A molecular sieves anyway but I did test the silica gel used by dumping it in some water and it quickly turned black. Very black. Shine the thing under some light and you can certainly tell the difference. They get darker as they adsorb more so they will be various shades of black.
For $4 each this is a pretty good deal but know what you're getting and what to expect. You might want to consider other agents such as calcium chloride aka damp-rid (will make puddles), molecular sieves, or an electronic dehumidifier.

Wethouse: When they come in, I drill a couple holes in the thickness of the canister, insert little rivets and wah lah... ready to do it's job without a worry about them busting open when dropped.

SnowSquirrel: it's convenient product, I placed them in the bin where I store the PLA filament spools, I don't know if this helps, can't really tell one way or the other. I would buy it again if needed.

Sirayala: Keep that surplus ammo dry! Or your photo equipment or whatever. Check on your canisters 4 days after you put them in an ammo can or sealed box, they'll likely look spinach green or almost black.
They should be bright like orange Gatorade.
Dry them out in an oven, just lay on foil, no need to open them, bake gently at 250°F (120°C is closest you'll get) for 3 hours, give them a few minutes until you can hold them in a napkin comfortably, don't leave them exposed outside the oven too long. Mine are definitely working because the next week after opening the ammo cans they've stayed orange. So it all got dried out that first few days.
If your canisters look green again after about a week, your box is not sealing good, may wanna check that. If watertightness is a concern.

S. Joseph: Best feature: These go anywhere. The status window is a bit dark, so the beads can look darker than they really are. My biggest complaint with this would be the recharging process can be a bit messy. Taking the pellets out, putting them in a tray, warming these in an oven then putting them back in the container is guaranteed to have you chasing around a few errant desiccant balls so you don't lose any. It is almost impossible to get them all back in the container without having to chase down a few.
