Heidi: I always buy this mouse for my computer and it works great! When I start to wear it out from using it too much I just buy another. Works great for gaming and office tasks. Highly recommend

Desiree P.: In April 2020 I purchased this mouse as a replacement for another of the same kind. Here I am, almost exactly 3 years later, ready to buy another mouse for the same issue I had the first go-'round.

First, the batteries (good ones, like Duracell) will last you as long as they promise. There's no question about their claims there. Heck, I don't even switch the mouse off when it's not in use.10/10

Second, it's a surprisingly good gaming mouse. Glides nicely over just about any surface with barely a stutter to the tracking. 10/10

However, if you play any PC games that have you using the middle mouse button a lot (like Sims or Cities Skylines) or use the middle click for other things frequently then you're going to find that the middle click (wheel click, or mouse 3) will not last as long as your batteries.
The first marathon mouse I had was easy enough to disassemble as to bend the little metal piece that created the middle click back into shape. I was able to get a whole extra year out of it before I decided it was time to replace it for cosmetic reasons. But, this second one is manufactured differently. There is no longer a little metal piece that can be...

5280_Homebrewer: Prior to purchasing this wireless mouse, I always purposely bought wired mice. However, mice have a tendency to have a short lifespan for working correctly. After reading several articles and forums and reviews of different mice, it seemed that there were far more options available when you include wireless. So, I searched high and low for a new mouse for personal (non gaming) and work usage. I wanted something that was fairly basic and that had the scroll wheel. This mouse has a button near the scroll wheel that allows you to change the speed of the scroll from incremental to free spin. I almost always use the incremental scroll, but when I need to get through a long page quickly, then I’ll switch to free spin.

Since owning this mouse, I cannot yet vouch for longevity, but I can say that I am highly impressed with the mouse overall. I even bought a second one so that I can have individual mice for each of my laptops, one for work and one for personal. When sharing one mouse between two computers, sometimes the computer doesn’t recognize the wireless fob when moved to the other computer and a computer restart is needed.

For personal, I pretty much use my computer...

Eran Rubman: The right button clicks too easily. When my hand is resting on the mouse, the right button would inadvertently click because of the natural weight of my hand (and my hands aren't particularly large). It doesn't help that the design of the mouse is tilted slightly to the right (which is done for ergonomic purposes - good) which makes the weight of my hand resting on the right button even larger. This is the largest issue for me - I did mostly get used to it after a while but I shouldn't have to actively think about being careful and not placing too much weight on the right side.

That said, it does feel like a reasonably good mouse. The size is relatively large - which I like - but it's not too big. It fits in my hand well. The scroll wheel generally feels good, which is the issue with most other mice I've owned. Unfortunately I've only had this mouse for a week so I can't speak to the longevity of it, which was my main issue with other mice (scroll wheel would break within a year). I will update my review after a while. The scroll wheel when on the "click" setting could be quieter though. It's noticeably louder than my previous mouse. The hyper-scroll is an interesting...

DragonGrrl: I have bought this model 5 times, 3 of those times through Amazon. Over the years, the price of this model has dropped but the look and feel has been pretty consistent.

Not all of the mice are for my own use. One is for home use, and the rest for use at the office (my desk, my colleague's desk, and the boardroom). The one at my desk had to be replaced after being in use for over 6 years. As a graphic designer, I have definitely put this device through intense usage. The old one still functions but the base was worn so smooth the traction was a little wonky. I expect each one of these mice to last a very long time.

My very first one of this model is still in ise at home. I would guess it is close to 10 years old if not older. I highly recommend this product. It is made for medium sized or small boned hands. It will feel immensely comfortable to grip. More comfortable than the micro/ mini mice sold for travel. More functional and also error free. All the buttons are in the right places so you don't accidentally hit buttons you don't intend to.

Unlike the oldest model, these new ones have a slot for the tiny usb receiver hidden in the base of the mouse. And I...

Famous Last Words: This mouse has a shape that fits well in my average-sized hand. I was previously using a Microsoft Wireless 3500, which has a fairly slim profile, so it took a while to get used to the Marathon mouse with its broad top surface and contoured thumb rest. However, after a couple of days, it now feels completely natural.

Set-up was basically plug-and-play. Once the USB dongle was inserted into my keyboard, the mouse was instantly usable. The extra buttons (scroll wheel and thumb buttons) are pre-programmed to perform certain tasks, such as horizontal scroll, browser forward/back, and application switcher, depending on which OS you're using. However, if you want to change the functions of the extra buttons, then it's a simple matter to install the optional software (SetPoint, Control Center, or Options, depending on your OS) and re-map them.

The scroll wheel has two settings activated by a push-button on the mouse's top surface: a free-wheeling "Hyper" mode; and a standard "Ratchet" mode. Most people are accustomed to the ratchet mode, but the Hyper mode takes some getting used to. I've found that it's useful for times when you have to do a lot of scrolling. For instance,...

Sean Rooney: This is a fantastic mouse. I first used the wired model at my last firm. Some associate left it when he left the firm and I inherited it. I was immediately drawn to the infinity scroll feature as I use large spreadsheet with lots of relevant information and using that scroll feature is far more convenient than Page Up/Down or jumping around with the scroll bar in the window.

When I left that firm, I was in the market to purchase my own and I went with the wireless version, the M705. Again, the infinity scroll is super convenient. The programmable buttons on the side of the mouse are great too! One thing I haven't mentioned is how well this fits in my hand. It's a good size mouse but perfect for the palm. It feels natural. It glides on all desktops. I have only run into problems with the mouse not working well on granite, glass, and oddly - paper. Not sure what it is about paper, maybe the rulings on it. Anyways, use on desks and tables since that is where I do most of my work is just fine. No complaints.

The mouse boasts a 3-year battery life. I cannot attest to that as of yet, but I purchased my first M705 2 years ago and I still have the same batteries in it. The...
