Sharon O. Wood: We have 4 cats ranging from a 21 lb Maine Coon to a tiny 6 lb 9 month old rescue. Needless to say we do a lot of kitty litter box scooping. With 4 cats and 4 cat pans we bought 4 of the LitterLocker II canisters.
Construction is good. The bag cartridge is easy to use and just drops into the top of the canister. The opening in the top is large enough and sloped to catch the litter refuse quickly and easily. The scoop and scoop holder on the site makes managing the litter clean up very convenient.
Changing the bag when full is easy. The top opens all the way so that the top half of the container is on the floor leaving the inside of both halves easily available and use. The cutting tool is part of the structure and conveniently placed so it's very easy to take the top of the filled bag and run it though the cutter so that you can tie a knot in the used portion of the bag and remove it. Then pull down a portion of bag from the cartridge in the top portion, tie a knot in the bottom of that piece and close the lid.
When putting large, or light, amounts of litter refuse into the bag it sometimes won't pass through to the lower bag when the Spring Loaded Barrier is...

TIG: On November 25, 2011 I placed an order with Amazon. As usual I used a Litter Locker II refill cartridge to bring my order up to the $25 mark to qualify for free shipping. At $5.99, buying a refill on every Amazon order had become routine. Please don't get me wrong. I LOVE the Litter Locker II and will not ever go back to using anything else. Odor-free is absolutely the truth. If you use a different method of litter disposal and think your house remains free of the used-litter smell, you're fooling yourself!
HOWEVER, today (Dec 3, 2011) I went to tack on another refill cartridge to my latest Amazon order only to discover the price had sky-rocketed from $5.99 to $14.10. That's a 135% price increase!
Reading other reviews I see that some folks have stated that the Litter Locker II refill cartridges are the same as the Diaper Genie II refill cartridges just with different packaging. Looking online I see that my local Walmart stocks the Diaper Genie II refills and sells them for $6. That's only a penny more than the previous Amazon pricing. I'm more than willing to give those a try before I shell out $14.10 for the current Litter Locker II refills from Amazon.
