Justin Baldwin: Norm was Norm and didn’t care. Unapologetic and silly. He didn’t try to be anything else other than himself and that’s what makes him so great and rare. They don’t make em like Norm anymore.

Cascadian: An Ok read, pretty funny in places. A couple of interesting characters such as the gullible side kick ("assistant") he obtained. Which he kicked a few times.

Gregory: Very well written book by the greatest comedian of our generation.

Amazon Customer: This is one of the funniest books I've ever read, but is also just a great work of literature. So zany and off-beat and yet heartfelt and philosophical, just like the best of Norm's comedy. I read that he had actually planned to focus more on writing than standup in his later years, but it looks like this is the only book we'll ever get from him. At least he made it a great one.

Sriranjan Seshadri: Rarely have I read a funnier or better book. The genius of Norm Macdonald continues to stand out.

Alexa: It’s hard to know what information is true and what is not in this unique novel. It doesn’t really matter. Funny and tragic it explains some of what you see in this author’s on camera work. He’s a comic genius who doesn’t appeal to all. He is mesmerizing to watch. I can’t stop watching his appearances across his professional life. Professor of Logic he is not, but his ability to entertain, with humor, like no other is pure enjoyment. His development both personally and professionally is fascinating to watch. I hope to go to the University of Science some day. I particularly enjoyed hearing his voice as he read this tale. It also freed up my hands so I could eat my cheese sandwich. If you are unfamiliar with my Norm, please dial him up on YouTube and watch his appearances on Letterman who he idolized, Conan who I had never watched before, his bold and brave material from Weekend Update on SNL and his stand-up appearances which are legend to us in the know. From a beginning comic, who told about his life experiences with that boyish naiveté and genuine surprise at how life works is a treasure to watch over and over and then seeing him in each new decade is a gift I am...

Amazon Customer: I have listened to the audiobook and read the ebook from the funny fella and just want the book to be there, at arms reach, till the end of time. And if I tie my end of time to this quality of paper, I maybe have a year to live.

I have seen better paper quality in the books sold outside the railway station...at the tenth of the price.

Filippo F.: Everything is exhaggerated for comedic effect, but it also has some serious and very touching moments. Norm went all out in this one and what we have is a truly wonderful read. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll appreciate the few (very interesting) opinions Norm has on comedy, people, and life in general.
Its only fault is the pacing: in 90% of chapters the reality-to-fiction ratio is perfectly balanced, in the other 10% it's a little too skewed towards made up stuff, which results in entire chapters (again though, not many) feeling "useless", like a waste of time: The cool story set in the present and the interesting flashbacks of Norm's past life are all suddenly paused. Those chapters didn't feel great.
Other than that, it is a truly unique and wonderful work of art; one that's made with love by a very special man. Give it a read.
