William B.: We needed a hose reel for the back of the house, and this was perfect. I bought it in July 2023. It was easy to install, and works as intended. Within the first few weeks, 2 small screws fell out of the center drum of the reel. Unsure exactly what they were supposed to be attached to. Something internal. I left the base mount attached to the house for the winter, and removed the reel portion to be stored inside. I will disassemble over the winter and see where the screw fell out of. Due to screws lying on the patio, I gave this 4 stars. I would buy this again I think. It really depends on how it lasts over the next several years. Also, many have complained about the finish fading. Anything will fade with time, left in the weather. I put a little car wax on the hose reel in the front yard. It has been there for 5 years and looks new. Take care of your stuff people!!

David Beattie: I am well pleased with the quality of this product. I had become so accustomed to my leaky and balky old hose reeel, that I'd forgotten how easy to use a good one can be. It's newly installed so I cannot speak to durability, but the solidity of its construction augers well.

I did have considerable difficulty in assembling the product. Some procedures, such as attaching the basket, require a surgeon's precision which I - Mr. fumble fingers - do not have. Also the instructions seem to be in the wrong order in one place; I mounted the frame, and then had to unmount it to add the basket.

Still, the frustrations were worth it, as it works very well.

M UndesserM Undesser: I installed one of these for a neighbor lady a few years ago and it has held up well. It is VERY well designed, metal construction throughout, and the swivel is brass with O-rings. See image ... a simple snap ring, disassemble and replace 2-3 O-rings (hardware store has them), a little grease, and put it back together. It's a snap, no pun intended. My old reel was about $40 cheaper from a different manufacturer, but the swivel was made of "plastic" parts, leaked like a sieve, and there was no way to fix it. Wish I would have bought a Liberty Garden product the first time.

huehuetenangohuehuetenango: Not a bad hose reel, but for the cost, would have expected mounting hardware and better quality control. The fractured metal in the photo does not affect the overall performance or structural integrity of the hose reel, so I will not bother to return, but it's annoying.

Bluesman: This is nice hose reel. It works smoothly and is an attractive design. We have a home that needs this look to be consistent. It's good. But the finish is lousy. It confuses me why a manufacturer will produce something this thoughtful and then finish it with a sub-par coating. It is a dark bronze color out of the box but begins fading immediately. By the end of summer, both hose reels were a light shade of brown (I purchased two of them at the same time. One is on the sunny side of the house. The other is in an area that is shaded much of the day). I used automotive rubbing compound to clean off the oxidation but here we are part way through the next summer and they are just as faded and the finish is falling off. I take them both indoors in the fall, then back out in spring. They don't live a hard life. Just so disappointed in the finish. I may take them apart and see if I can have them powdercoated, which is what should have been done in the first place. Maybe they are powdercoated but it doesn't handle the sun at all. So... The hose reel is great, the finish is lousy. Almost awesome. 4 stars.

David T: Going to be a while before mounting as it is a gift in the future. Had to open box after shipping to inspect. Noticed that the swivel mount felt a bit rough in rotation, and harder to turn than it should. Being picky, and ever the curious one, I removed the black plastic cap next to the release knob with my bare fingers as it has an O-ring for capture. I saw some bearings and sprayed them with WD-40, but noticed no improvement in rotation. There is a plate/washer with two set screws that acts as a locknut. I proceeded to remove the set screws and found that they were extremely easy to turn/lose. After removing the washer I found as washer/nut that supports the swivel and loosened it a bit to find it rotated much easier. I removed it to find two tapered roller bearing without any grease whatsoever. After removing and packing the bearings with grease and re-assembling/adjusting the swivel rotates smoothly with ease. Disappointed to find some decent bearings assembled dry! Maybe its just because I used to have to pack the wheel bearings in my autos in the old days. I can see it being a bit difficult to perform on assembly line as its a bit messy, but it really needs to be done IMHO....
