Steve Bennett: Love Tokyo, love neon noir and love Liam Wong! He's a very talented photographer and has a talent for capturing what Tokyo is all about in some moody yet beautfiul photos. I love this book and look at it often. Great work Liam.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: If you like neon signs in Japanese, interesting colors, and people walking away from the camera holding umbrellas- this book has a ton of that.
If you like books that teach you about photography, composition and has a lot of depth, this one misses the mark.
I enjoyed his bio and about 3 images. The rest seemed very similar and was mostly signs and umbrellas. No expressions. No compelling moments. No story. Just emotionless structures.
Even when he did describe a moment, it mostly described that he used auto settings, 24-70 lens and enjoyed walking around listening to music.
I admire his ability to design and create the book, I just wish there were more for me to really learn from. I’ve been a professional photographer for 6 years, I’m always learning- even from beginners. But this book seemed very beginner. Plus the binding completely peeled apart upon first look.
I found the images to be nothing deeper than a collection of colorful images that blur together in no memorable way. Just not for me, but again, kudos to him for creating this book.

C: The book itself is very good - nice paper quality, everything is very neatly laid out, and the context behind the photos are very interesting. HOWEVER, if you compare this book's photos to that of other expert urban photographers with similar styles like Masashi Wakui's, you will see that this book's photos are very amateurish. Liam Wong said he only started shooting with a DSLR in 2015, and his lack of experience really shows. This is the reason I am giving it 4 stars. His second book, "After Dark" is better in terms of composition and toning.

Megan Antoinette: It didn't take as long as I thought it would. I loved every page! It is soothing, and exciting to see Tokyo through his eyes because I move to Japan next month. I love how the artist seems to love rain. The colors remind of Vincent van Gogh. There are also some photos that reminded of Final Fantasy 7 remake. Thank you and I recommend this book! I'll buy the Japanese version next. It is worth every penny!

Vicky: I was so excited about getting this book. I have been a fan of Liam for a long time. The book design is slick. The captions and photo descriptions are great. But somehow the pictures don't look as sharp. They definitely look beautiful online and on the computer screen. I think the quality of the paper print - or inks are below par. My guess is that the blacks are not as pure so the contrast is low and the pictures tend to look dull. I believe this is the first time Liam prints and there are many hurdles to accomplish. None of tis takes away the amazing talent from Liam. He has a unique eye and I am proud to have one of his books. Hopefully next time, the print quality will improve and I would not mind mind buying it again - or come up with Volume 2.
