Josh Tate: I got this to supply power to my aquarium from a receptacle that is not part of a GFCI-protected circuit. It works just fine for that purpose. The test and reset buttons do what they are supposed to do. A good option if you need GFCI protection but don't want to change out the receptacle itself.

L. ChangL. Chang: Heavy duty for outdoor rainy weather. Bright yellow color so our 2 year old could see it and not step on it. The only con I experienced using this was during a few wind/rainstorms where suddenly our Christmas inflatable would suddenly come to life... I saw it happen 2-3 times while I was at home, so hopefully it didn't occur when we were out! We left the wire plugged in pretty much all winter so it was convenient otherwise.

corkyjon: My garage refrigerator is on a GFCI circuit, and after power failures the GFCI can trip and fails to reset when power comes back on. I have lost two freezers full of meat as I didn't notice the power failures until the food was defrosted. The garage door opener is not on a GFCI protected circuit, so I plugged the Leviton into the unused half of the duplex ceiling outlet, strung the cord across the ceiling and down to the refrigerator. The Leviton is supposed to be auto-resetting after power failures- haven't had any since installation so the jury is still out but the concept is sound.

LondonParisRome: Rugged, well-made, thick cord, labeled for outdoor use and looks like it can withstand any weather. I already own 2 of these, and use them outdoors 24/7/365. Never a problem. Automatically resets in case of a power outage. Perfect for outdoor Christmas lights or working outdoors with power tools.
