LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Townhouse Pet Shop & Café 31097 Building Set - Create a Toy Store, Pet Shop, and Café!

Q: I bought this Lego set as a gift to my son. We spent an afternoon building it. Not only was that a wonderful bonding experience, it fits perfectly with the rest of his kits.

The amount of detail for the little things like flower baskets and Rick rack was so pleasing.

IJ Brate: My 9 year old built this set in a matter of 2 hours or less. It wasn't the most challenging but he enjoyed it and there are loads of little details that make it extra fun. It has a cool kitchen with pans, menu sign and dishes in the noodle shop and the upper apartment has furniture, a newspaper, and a bonsai tree. He only did the one option so far but the 3-in-1 feature makes this set extra cool! Nice set for the money!

Jenny: My niece is 9 years old and she enjoys Legos and the challenge of putting them together. I purchase them for her all the time, so am always on the lookout for a challenge for her. She has autism and is my darling. When she is happy, I am happy. I love watching her putting her Legos together. I always bring them to her..I pull up in the driveway and there is usually a nice Lego surprise for her in the back seat. She jumps for joy. I love to spoil her with her Legos. :-)

JGR: This set is essentially 12 studs deep with a narrow sidewalk. I hope this becomes a long term standard for smaller LEGO buildings.

The default method for building the main option of the three is to have the two buildings face different streets on a corner. I made a very small modification so they both faced the same street to better fit in the space I had available.

The outer front walls are intricate and look very nice. The “dollhouse style” construction without a back wall does not bother me for a building of this size and cost. It fits well in a row with the Townhouse Toy Store set. The inside detail is good given the limited space. I did add a small number of additional pieces including more foliage both inside and out even though it wasn’t really necessary. There are a good number of parts for the money and this is significantly less expensive than a Creator Expert Modular building.

I ordered a second set to be delivered today to increase the length of the row by building one of the other two options. Together with the Townhouse Toy Store, I should have a nice row of six buildings on my block for the price of a lower end Creator Expert Modular set...
