PC Geek: Considering what it went through, I'm not entirely surprised the outer button didn't last. It still snaps shut, just the button cover fell off.
The material holds up well and is still very strong.

Amazon Customer: Yes, this sheath is a quality build, but the leather used is much thinner than the original, which lasted 6 years. A bit skeptical about the durability of this one..

rob_amazon_86rob_amazon_86: Ich habe diesen Leder Hoster für meinen Leatherman Wave nun schon 5 Jahre, wobei ich diesen ca. ein Jahr täglich am Gürtel mit mir herum getragen habe. Die restliche Zeit habe ich ihn in meinem Rucksack transportiert, wobei er mir auch hier Vorteile bringt. Folgend zu den Details:

+ Der Leatherman Wave passt ausgezeichnet hinein. Nichts wackelt und das heraus- und hineinschieben funktioniert tadellos.
+ Das Case bietet mir mit der seitlichen Lasche die Möglichkeit eine kleine Taschenlampe immer mit zu führen.
+ Der Verschluss hält bombenfest.
+ Ein gelungener "Gürtelschlitz" verhindert ein herumrutschen am Gürtel.

- Leider hat das Case relativ schnell an Farbe verloren. Da ich mich noch nicht mit Schuhpaste ran getraut habe (will mir ja nicht meine Hemden versauen) kann ich jedoch noch nichts dazu sagen ob sich ev. gegen diesen Effekt etwas machen lassen würde.

Somit überwiegen bei mir die Vorteile dieses Holsters und ich kann es jedem empfehlen den es nicht stört, dass es nach einer Weile Gebrauchsspuren zeigt.

Now, grant that I've only had this for 2 months, but it sees daily and sometimes pretty rough use. So far, I'm really pleased.
In the pictures, the leather looks like the cheap, rigid stuff that your average $3 knife from China comes with, but it's actually good durable quality. Initially very stiff, the leather wore in quickly and became much more supple/pliable. That said, there has been no physical wear/stretching on the snap, cover or belt loops (despite getting into some tight spots and having to shimmy out, dragging my leatherman/case against the wall).
I'll update if anything changes.

Megan C.: So, the sheath that came with the Leatherman Wave I got for Christmas was nylon and a piece of garbage. This thing is worn and used daily and in 2.5 months time a hole large enough to allow the tool to slip out had formed...hence the purchase of a leather sheath. Only had it for about a week but I can say this -- the tool fits in the sheath snugly, securely; the quality is tangibly superior to that of the nylon sheath, the leather is kind of stiff but I think that is a good thing and that it speaks to the quality of the product, it'll soften with time and use; appears rugged and durable enough to last for years, not months. Overall, a nice product that serves its purpose well, so far. If it falls apart anytime soon, I'll be sure to update the review.

morinimorini: Da ich mein Wave und meine Taschenlampe (Rofis ER 12,1x AA-Batterie) immer am Gürtel trage und beide Holster ziemlich abgenutzt waren,suchte ich nach einem qualitativ hochwertigen Ersatz ,idealerweise einer der beide Geräte in einem aufnimmt.
Ich hatte schon ein Leatherman Premium Holster II (LP500) probiert,dieses sagte mir aber wegen des beidseitigen Gummistretches nicht zu (Erschien mir irgendwie zu "labberig" ).
Nun bin ich über dieses Sheath für Wave (LP650) gestolpert und habe es einfach mal bestellt.
Und siehe da : Es ist genau das was ich gesucht habe ! Das Wave passt perfekt (Wäre ja auch schlimm wenn nicht ...) und die Taschenlampe bekommt man prima in das Stretchfach (Welches wohl eigentlich zur Aufnahme von weiteren Bits für das Wave gedacht ist).
Der wesentliche Unterschied zum Premium Holster II liegt meinem Empfinden nach darin,dass hier das Leder herumgezogen wird und somit nur auf einer Seite das Gummistretch vorhanden ist.Dies stabilisiert das Holster ungemein !
Zudem kann man die Lampe relativ einfach herausziehen (Und auch wieder hineinstecken) ,ohne das Holster am Druckknopf zu öffnen . Trotzdem wird die Taschenlampe sicher und fest...

J QJ Q: This is a great pouch. I assume it's made for the newer model of Wave. I have and old (2001-2002 ish) model which is does not fit, the flap will not close with the older model in place. For me that's fine, I didn't buy it for a Wave.

I really like that this is only elasticated on one side (elasticated tunnel, presumably for holding the bit driver), the other side being leather. It's a sturdy pouch with a sturdy belt loop.

So if I didn't buy this for a Wave, what did I get it for? I got it for a Leatherman Juice. I know that sound crazy, but the pouch meant for the juice is simply not up to the job. This pouch works well enough for the Juice out of the box. I spent two days using it, whilst the Juice did have a lot of room to move around in the pouch it did not feel insecure.

I have since paid a visit to my local cobbler, I asked him to put on another 'snap fastener' so that the flap closes lower down, which he did for a couple of quid, now it fits my juice snugly. Still a little room side to side, but the flap holds it very securely. I would highly recommend this simple approach for other Juice owners. Photos included.
