Caleb McDowell: This is an excellent sheath for holding your Buck Knife or other similar-sized pocketknives. It fits my Buck 112 Ranger snugly. The color of the leather is more stronger and like a light reddish-brown clay color compared to the photos shown by the seller. In my opinion, it looks better than advertised.
Like others said, it is a very hard leather but that’s what you want in longevity. My suggestion is to open up the insert with your fingers and push in the knife all the way, then throw it in the oven at 200°F for an hour. It’ll relax the leather around the knife. When you take it out after an hour, let it cool down and then you can take your knife out and back in with ease while the leather is more sculpted to the size and shape of your knife instead of tightening back up to it’s manufactured state.
Keep in mind that the way your knife should be inserted into the sheath should be true to how you take it out for use — for most people that’s with the handle in your palm with the blade pivot downward; the blade is opposite of your palm and opens downward and away from your hand.
