Melissa Pogrant: I have a bad habit of letting small items that are not supposed to be in the garbage disposal, drop into the garbage disposal. I bought this in hopes of keeping small couplers and metal bakery bag tips from dropping into the disposal. This cover does the trick!

CUA: Be sure to buy the ones with the white handles on both sides or they will be difficult to lift out. We like theses so much better than the baskets. When they get stained we just soak them in a bit of bleach/water to clean flipping halfway thru the soak to clean both sides. I have had other ones for YEARS.

Caroline: I've been using this product for years and love it. It does what it is suppose to do. I personally use mine for the other sink and in the laundry room sink. I prefer the Oxo Good Grips Strainer for the garbage disposal side, not because it is more effective but I prefer it for cleaning on that side.
