Mark R Calvert: Product worked good when we could get it to turn on. The rotating on/off switch is ridiculous. Took longer to rotate the switch to get it to stay on than it did to bore sight.

Per usual, IF...IF this product had a great set of instructions I think the 5 star rating would be 85%. I found it confusing at first because I have a .458 bore Winchester. I took the largest insert and found to fit well so long as it was not screwed to the laser. What I discovered was that getting it to fit was somewhat counter intuitive. One has to turn the screw such that it is goes almost entirely into the circular insert. Then turn the screw into the laser, try it out, back off or turn more, try again. There is an inclination to attempt to put the insert onto the laser to a full depth...no. There is a sweet spot where the insert is delicately connected to the laser where it is just firm enough to go into the barrel. I was surprised that if the largest one was put all the way on, there was no way I could get the insert end into the barrel due to the expansion. In other words you want to spread the insert such that it fits the bore - not assume that screwing the insert on to the full amount will work.

Then I did a .380 pistol. Same thing. I had to judge the right distance to put the screw into...

torontopanda: Contrary to some reviews out there, this light is very easy to use and makes sighting of both iron sights and optics a breeze. Careful adjustment of the correct screw plug makes for a snug fit and a parallel reference light. Sights were taken most of the way without even being on the range or firing a single round. Once in the field, three shots established proper zero and we were locked and ready to go. Saves time and lots of ammo.

John V.John V.: I am new to pistol shooting and my goal is to enter some competitions. I wanted a bore sight for my .22lr because it has adjustable rear sight and being new at this I did not want to adjust the pistol sight to any of my bad shots with live fire but rather to adjust/refine my shooting technique with correctly calibrated sights.

For this reason, I was willing to pay a few extra $ to make sure that the bore sight would be fairly accurate and this seemed to be a better choice and versatile in order to be able to be used with other caliber pistols also. Before I was going to start adjusting the rear sight to this bore sight, I wanted to make sure that it is accurate so I fitted it in a Glock that has factory, non adjustable, sights and to my surprise, the Glock's sights were perfectly aligned with the laser dot produced by this bore sight so I knew that adjusting the .22 sights according to this bore sight would give me the correct windage and elevation adjustments.

kindle: I never used a bore sight instrument before. As a complete NOOB in sighting rifles, I found this to be one heck of a great tool to have in my toolbox. I used it to sight n my AR-15 and had it completed within 15 minutes. Here are the drawbacks as I see them them. Please consider I am a complete noob in this area. I had to wait for the sun until dusk in order to get a decent laser image. After finding the right attachment that came with the kit to fit the bore of the AR, I was able to place it in the rifle nice and snug. I had the rifle in a fixed position and the reflective small target it came with out about 25 years, or 75 feet. I merely adjusting the red dot scope to line up with the laser image on the reflective target. The laser gets larger the further out you go so it is better in my opinion to use the minimum length suggested in the manual. After that I went tot he range and found I was more accurate than before by a bunch. I didn't waste 50 dollars worth of rounds and a lot of aggravation, including the embarrassment of looking like a fool at the range in-front of the other guys, when I was able to do this right in my back yard.
