Amazon Customer: These are perfect after giving birth but can also be great for monthly soreness. I have only used the ice option and it’s perfect. It comes with the covers to avoid freezing yourself out. They fit nicely in a bra and you can’t even tell anything is in there.

JennKJennK: Use:
I used these both cold (frozen) and hot (miscrowaved) for different reasons with different results. COLD: these frost up and get cold rather quickly, I would use them every couple hours between feedings to reduce engorgement. I felt as though they got cold quickly but would defrost very soon after inserting into my bra. I did not find these that great cold. HOT: I loved these hot, I would pop them into the microwave for 20-25 seconds and then wear them a few minutes before pumping and during pumping. They stayed warm my entire pump session, and sometimes needed a cool off period before using.

What's in the box:
Two gel inserts shaped like an "C" and two fabric covers came in the plastic box.

Fabric cover:
These come with two purple washable fabric covers. You fold and insert the gel package into the cover and clasp the button to close. These covers are good for (1) cold for engorgment and (2) pre-feeding or pumping - NOT good while pumping since they often got sticky from breast milk. The fabric is soft-ish and washes well.

HOT for Pumping:
I loved these for use before and during pumping as they helped increase my milk flow....

Elaine TronicElaine Tronic: A lactation consultant suggested I use warm compresses before pumping to help the milk come out more easily and relieve engorgement. These heating pads are great.

I put both heating pads in the microwave for 19 seconds, then massage them with my hands to distribute any hot spots. I put them in my bra for a few minutes before pumping, and they are very comfortable to wear. I definitely think they help relieve engorgement and make pumping more efficient.

A few other tips for pumping: massage your breasts while pumping to help them fully empty. Lubricate the inside of the flange with lanolin to make pumping more comfortable for your nipples.

Make sure you have the right size flange for your nipple, don't automatically use the size that came with the pump. A lactation consultant can help you find the right size or you can try different sizes on your own. The entire nipple should fit into the flange, but not much of the areola.

Good luck with your breastfeeding journey!

Vick: Just need 15 seconds in Microwave and it becomes really hot. Heat stays for about 20 minutes

MC: These hot/cold breast packs are great for nursing mothers. After having numerous plugged ducts and sick of using a wet washcloth, I opted to give these a try and loved them. If I need them warm, I just microwave for about 15 seconds and apply them around my breast. The cover has a convenient snap on it to keep it in a circular shape which helped keep it in place easier and I could also use it when I pumped. It was super easy to use and nice to not have any wet spots on my clothes like I would when using a washcloth. I have also used them for cold therapy too. Same thing, super easy, just pop them into the freezer and take them out when needed. I did notice that they thawed pretty quickly due to the heat my breasts were producing, especially when they were engorged and clogged, but it still helped none the less and I used them for heat therapy much more than cold anyway.

K Davis: These pretty much do what they are designed to do. They hold heat for the whole 20 min I need them to. Some people have mentioned that they take much longer to warm up than instructed. When I first got them I thought so too, until I realized that they feel much warmer when I am wearing them than when I am holding them in my hand. 20 seconds (950 watt) each is all they need. At first the edges still feel cold, but if you squish them a bit they even out and are the perfect temp. I haven't tried cooling them. As for shape- they are more of a fat C shape than O. They come in soft cotton covers that snap on the ends. This works great for pumping. However, they are a bit bulky, so you mostly have to snap them off to make sure you are centered. I have had them about a week (pumping exclusively)and they are working perfectly. I will update if they disintegrate or pop open.
