Hardrock: These are just what I needed to finish a woodworking project. Couldn't find these in any stores. I did locate some Pan Head Type in this size. But I like these Washer Head Type, they hold better. The other problem that I have run into buying these in most stores that carry some selection of these screws. Is that the largest size they carry is 100 quantity. With what I was finishing, those would have been gone in no time. I needed these 500 quantity, then you know you have enough and in the long run. Buying this many at once turns out to be a saving. These things did the job, they hold good and tight. And they come in their own, really nice storage container. Great product, glad I could count on Amazon for having such a choice available. I will be buying more from Amazon when I need them. I didn't have to waste time and gas money searching for them. Highly recommend these.

Gomrko: Kreg screws are very high quality. If you want a strong screw this is a great choice. I like the flat/washer head type for a variety of uses besides pocket holes. I find the square drive less likely to strip out like a Phillips head will sometimes do.

I don’t use thousands of screws so the slightly higher cost isn’t a big deal to me.

Phil: A few years ago I just wanted to buy a pack of screws to hang up some things at work, and happened to buy a set of 1 inch Kregs. I much prefer square drive (Robertson) so that was my main criteria at the time.

Fast forward a few years later, I've starting doing some woodworking and learning more about screws and exploring the possibilities of pocket hole joinery. I found these to be good quality back when I didn't know too much, but now that I've purchased a Kreg pocket hole kit and used various sizes of their screws, I would highly recommend them. They sit well on the driver bit, don't strip like some lower quality screws, plenty of grip when driving (unlike Philips or flat heads), and the self tapping mechanism works very well. I keep plenty on hand of various sizes (1 inch work great for plywood and 2.5 inch work great for 2x4s) because I tend to use them for lots of non-pocket hole needs where I don't require countersinking.

Mine came in the plastic boxes they now use, not the cardboard shown in the pictures. When I got mine, it came only in a padded mailer/envelope, I assume only because AMZN themselves were going to be delivering it. The lid had come off and half the screws were loose in the envelope. No biggie, but when I put them back in, it only filled up half the box! No worries, though. After counting, I got 3 extra! Don't be surprised if the screws come nowhere near filling the container. I'm assuming the (excess) container size stacks/fits neatly with the smaller plastic containers.
