Patrick T. Oneill: Knipex is know for high quality tools, I have about 15 individual pieces and love them. First the wire strippers work…..but the entire body is made from a light polymer material that quite honestly feels like it belongs on a cheap Chinese tool from Harbor Freight. I am afraid that I will damage this tool in the course of normal usage, like I said ..it works but for $40+ I expected more…

Rick Automation: I read and watched many reviews about this saying it did not have cutting strength to cut and pull off the wire jacket. It seems the older version did not have the - /+ slider to decrease and increase the cutting tension. This updated version they are shipping now has that. And for me it works in small industrial settimg. The only issues I have run into is that for older baked on wire jackets you may have to cut off the ends in smaller pieces. And very soft stretchy jackets may need to be cut around in a circle a few times. To me this is still way faster than using 2 hands and a traditional stripper. Also if you are looking to cut multiple wires or thicker ones the built in cutter may not be suited. I still carry linesman in my belt with these. These are the lower end version of their big boy pair so I set my expectations and for the price they are amazing for me.

Tool whisperer: Over time and lots of stripping it doesn't like the always work on 23-20 ga wire. I just put a finger on top and put no pressure down and it works for all the sizes. I know that if I changed the blades it would work great again. I don't think that I will ever need to replace it. With that said I would get it again for terminal bored work. Not having bad stripped wire is a must for good work
