tacmtz:
absolutely love this resource in a portable form. good quality in color, product suggestions, and easy to follow treatments and explanations of dressings/ treatment
what I love is that i can carry it with me in my bag instead of a regular sized book that wont fit in the bag.
the ideas use easy to obtain products, and something you can carry with you as you go from home to home or job to job or location to location. great for a travel nurse to have for easy reference

L. Maynard: I love this spiral wound care guide. It has amazing pictures, lots of good advice, yet is small enough to travel in my home bag. I am a hospice nurse, so this is a great tool to take with me everywhere I go. It tells what dressings to use, how to clean the wound, how to stage pressure ulcers, etc. The only complaint I have is that it only has one binder ring to hold it all together, and I can foresee that after some months of use, the holes will tear and I will start losing pages, so I punched another hole in each page and put another binder ring through it. It doesn't look as professional as the factory holes, but it works and now the pages are much more protected.

gypsygirl: I'm not as thrilled with this Wound Care Pocket Guide as most of the reviewers seem to be. First, the information is very abbreviated in my opinion. It really gives just the bare bones in as cursory a manner as possible. Maybe this is exactly what some folks want, but not me. With all the white space on these cards, they could have offered more.
Second, I don't understand the purpose of having this thing hang by one corner from a metal ring. I missed that in the description or I wouldn't have bought it. This ring achieves nothing except to make the pages of the guide flop around awkwardly when I am trying to use it.
Third, a great many of the pictures are blurry. They are smaller than they need to be given the extra white space available, and they are strangely edited, so it is often unclear what the body part is. And, many of the photos are extreme examples of the wound type, not what you'd typically see and therefore not useful on a day to day basis.
Fourth, $40 is waaaay overpriced for this. $15 would be more on point. I regret this expensive purchase and may return it for something more useful.
