I find out her factory key fob is inop. Tried the normal stuff. No good. Like everyone I think leaving the car at the dealer for a day is crazy...it's a key fob, not a tune up. Bought this re-pop fob and paid $80 to have the 'programming' done. Worked fine for about 3 months. Now, I discover the new fob is dead. Not the battery, not the buttons, all the functions are kaput. Don't waste even the $15 or the programming fee. DO see a dealer and get the real thing.

Peter Schlegel: Unfortunately the instructions to activate remote did not work. I tried several times, looked online for solutions. In the end I had to take it to the dealer to activate it. Cost me $50😡not happy about that

angie: I recently ordered two of these. They came sooner than expected. I Was happy with the packaging. It came in large manilla envelope. I hate when you get a shoe box for a very small item.
Although i was expecting to be able to pull up a YouTube video to sync remote to my car. Wrong My mistake only the older model cars could be synced . so i had to take it to the dealer so They could sync it with a special computer.
Little tip for you... call around for prices some dealers charged anywhere from $75 dollars for each unit. I bought 2 which seemed ridiculously high.
Found a dealer that was $45 for both.
I am very happy with my purchase. Both units seem to be working real well.
Even though dealer warned they could not guarantee the sync if it was not bought thru the dealer.
Mine work great and cost considerably less. Very very happy. Now i can use my keyless entry to start my car in this cold weather.
Love my remote start.

Malodorous: Aftermarket parts can be hit or miss in terms of quality and function.
I bought two of these keyfobs. They don't feel as "solid" as my originals, which were so worn out they barely worked (one did not work at all). However, they are durable enough. I am clumsy and have dropped them in the driveway and parking lots several times, with minimal scuffing and no malfunctions.
When I took my car to the dealership to program them, they informed me that aftermarket fobs do not always work. If they did not work, I would either need to try my luck with different aftermarket keyfobs, or buy OEM parts from the dealer for $100 more -- per keyfob. Luckily, these programmed just fine and continue to work just as well as an OEM part.
Please note that you cannot program these yourselves: only a dealer has the necessary equipment to plug into your car's computer to match up whatever part talks to the fobs, and the fobs.

Carl Shoemaker: Over the 10 years that my mom has owned her 2006 Pontiac G6, the key fobs have stopped working. She got the first pair replaced under warranty but soon they stopped working too. The dealership wanted around $100 dollars to replace them so she went without them for a while.
One day I took the key fob apart and found out the flaw is that the conductive material on the underside of the buttons that completes the circuit to the key fob's board wears away so it does not complete the circuit and therefore the signal never is activated and the car doesn't lock/unlock. This makes most people believe that the whole key fob is broken and the dealership lets you believe it too. In reality you just need this key fob (more specificly the rubber buttons with the conductive material) from Amazon.
If you open up your non working key fob and place that circuit board it in this case it will most likely work and you can keep the circuit board this fob comes with as a spare in case you ever need it and save the $20 to program the remote!
As for the 4 stars I took off one because the plastic feels cheaper than the original but if this works longer than the originals I will most...

B.G: Good product for a Chinese board, works well. Not the greatest range, but enough to start from inside my house which is enough for me.

Jimmykun: Due to having a Malibu 05 max had to take it to the dealer for programming but worked ok and so far has been working with no problems, the cost of this key fob at the dealer is 120 dlls, so it was a good cost saving
