Rose: These are a remote only. There is no transponder like the OEM Honda keys. The OEM key have a transponder so they are remote key fob and transponder all in one. If you open your OEM Honda key, there is a little box next to the key that has a transponder sealed in silicone. You need the transponder or the security system will not allow the key to start the vehicle. You can unlock the doors and trunk but you will not be able to start the vehicle with these keys.

James : This is a great choice! I have a key fob for another car from this company that has worked great for the past four years. This one is for my 2004 Honda LX Accord. I went to the Batteries Plus Bulbs store in the next town over. It only cost $10 per key to have them cut. So I made sure both keys worked in my door lock before heading home. At home I took apart one of my old key fobs and took out the "chip". I had to use a blade and pry it out of the plastic housing. This damages that old key fob, it does not matter because it didn't work anyways. Now take apart the new key fob. The blank chip will come out easily (there is no housing for the chip in the new key fob). Put the old chip in the new key fob. Now you can enter with the key and start your car engine at this point . To get the key fob to open/lock the doors you need to do a few simple steps to program it: You have 5 seconds to complete each step. If you take longer than 5 seconds you will need to restart the entire process. You can attempt this process as many times as necessary to complete the entire process. So, enter the car and close all the doors.

John Blackburn: Price was fair, checked in US and with current CAD exchange, it was pretty close. Items came in mail in a week. Took to a Locksmith, paid $100 CAD to get the keys cut and programed. It took about 20 minutes. Worked fine and looks same as original key minus the little Honda emblem on the back.
