Knives before I purchased for him he did not care for. Clip is moveable so u can carry in either pocket. Easy opening. Sharpens easily,holds sharpness well after using it. Nyk Smith: I can’t say enough good things about this knife. It’s a good size, nicely weighted and just looks slick. The lock engages easily and it doesn’t kill your thumb when disengaging. Kershaw knives are made to last, and this one lives up to it.

Justgroovy: This knife Kershaw Model #1955 became my EDC soon after I got it a couple of years ago. I found it to be substantial enough for multitudes of cutting needs in my shop, while gardening and when opening sealed packages. It is easily sharpened and holds an edge quite well. I have a couple of dozen pocket knives that rarely make it out of their drawer. If they all disappeared and all I had left was this knife, I would not miss the others. This one is a keeper.
2023 - still impressive performance for a EDC. I found one of the vendors has a 25% discount on it right now, so I bought another.

Retired USAR Officer: I like the ergonomics of the knife - it feels solid and might be a little surprisingly heavy for EDC. The blade is coated black with silver (uncoated) areas extending down, and I think it looks great. The blade steel is average at best - it doesn't seem to hold its edge very long, but it sharpens up pretty quickly though. I've had it a few weeks and have noticed that occasionally it won't open all the way to lock when I flick it. Whether a sign of a problem or just operator error is to be seen. It is the perfect size for my hand, and I really wanted something a touch smaller for carrying in my daily business casual work attire. So far, so good - it cuts well and looks good and seems a bargain for the price. I don't use the clip but haven't bothered to remove it yet. The lockup is strong with no play, and the jimping seems about right for the medium to light usage I expect to put it through.

For improvements, I'd like to see a serrated option, and the overall finish of the blade is a touch rough. It is made in China and could have been polished a little better.
