Travis W.Travis W.: I spent a good deal of time looking at various knives but I knew I wanted a Kershaw due to them both being well known (vs some random marketing-driven name like "MASTER SHARP" "TACTICAL FORCE" etc.) as well as the fact that I've had a couple friends use Kershaw as their daily carry utility knife and they loved them. Those two things combined with positive review led me to feel confident that I was going to get a high quality knife made from high quality steel.
While I am certainly no expert in knives or the types of steel they are made from, I can tell you that this knife arrived from the factory with a very sharp grind that, while it won't do a fully clean shave, will definitely take some hair off the inside of your arm if you prefer to test that way, it effortlessly slices a clean cut through your average piece of printer paper, and flies through much of the stuff I need a knife for as if it wasn't even there.
The knife is a clean and simple design and you can tell by holding it that it is very well made. The opening/release mechanism works well and the safety lock is easily disengaged using the ring finger if you're right handed. The locking lever pops into the...

JMMorton: I bought this knife as part of a daily deal. I'm extremely hard on knives I carry at work. They get subjected to all sorts of mistreatment. Most knives don't tend to last super long and are pretty chewed up after 6 months.
My last knife was pretty ragged so I picked up this one to replace it. So far I'm impressed with it. The assisted opening is a nice touch, the blade is really sharp out of the box, and I like the clip. I picked up the blue so no one walks off with it. The color isn't bad, it's a bit lighter than the pictures if the color is a motivating factor for you.
The shape of the blade isnt bad. I tend to end up using knives to do alot of prying and scraping so we'll see how the profile holds up over time. According to the amazon page, this knife was made in the US, which is a nice plus.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is the blade lock. I really like that it absolutely won't deploy when it is locked, but it's so secure that I can't operate the assisted opening with one hand. The lock is a slide located on the bottom on the same side as the clip. It's a minor gripe, but I could see myself complaining about it in the future trying to cut through a...

Jay Wanders Out: Because it was light and I'm a fan of Kershaw I opted to take this knife with me as I thru hike the Pacific Crest Trail this year. In case you don't know it's a 2652 mile trail starting at the Mexican border in Campo, CA, to the Canadian border near Mazama, WA. Throughout it all I used it to cut cardboard to custom make boxes to mail gear home, opened many many boxes, cut plenty of summer sausages, cut plenty of bags, cut cordage of various types, shaved bark off of sticks, got soaked in hand sanitizer for hours, and survived easily several weeks of rain in Washington. There is not a spec of rust on it which surprised me from all my stainless steel use but I guess straight up humidity isn't as bad as salt water.
I am very picky with my knives and always sharpen everything to a razor sharp edge. I did not want to have to sharpen a knife on trail so I gave this a try. This knife started the trail razor sharp and ended razor sharp! I may strop it but I won't even bother honing it.
The only thing I did not like is the shape of the edge but I knew that from the start. I would highly recommend this to any other backpackers out there that wants a reliable low maintenance cutting...

John: This Kershaw Leek is more than I expected even after reading scores of good reviews. Excellent materials, fit, finish, and craftsmanship went into this knife. The blade is wicked sharp and well centered. All functions, including dual methods of assisted blade deployment, are positive.
This knife could easily cost much more, but I'm glad it doesn't! That makes it an every man's affordable, high quality knife. It is a well built, outstanding value and could sell for much more than it does. Enough from me, buy one yourself.
