E.R.: So far, these are great hiking boots, with especially great traction when climbing rocks. I thought they were a bit stiff at first, but had no problems with blisters, toes getting scrunched, or any other discomfort.

lili: I like the boots except for the front toe area is rounded but the boot fits to size and is comfortable to wear. used it on rainy days and so far no leaks. Is it warm, won't know until winter.
If you don't care about the round toe area buy it

BofHope: These have been in-f-ing-credible boots so far. I bought them a couple weeks before our trip to the Adirondacks and broke them in on several decent hikes before the trip, but honestly, there was no need to do so. They felt perfect from the start, and they never stopped feeling perfect all through our Adirondacks hikes. Not a single sore anything from day one to day eleven with many miles traversed. Feet felt so supported. It was my first time with ankle-high boots, so maybe that accounts for some of my amazement at these boots? I have just two questions: 1) Will they hold up over time? and 2) Will they continue to be sold over time? It's so annoying that good shoes seem to keep getting replaced by new versions that are often not as good as the originals. These boots, as they are, are keepers. I only hope they'll last many seasons -- will update if not. Also just to note - I was a little worried that "waterproof" would mean super hot feet, but I haven't found that to be the case for me, even in pretty hot conditions -- just get thin wool socks and it's no different from non-waterproof hiking shoes. HayleyHayley: I suffer from Planter Fasciitis and other foot aches and pains, at Christmas I spent over £100 on a well named pair of boots that had rave reviews but for my annoyingly sensitive feet I couldn't walk 1/4 of a mile without my feet killing me and going on a hike in them had me in tears. These Keen boots are such an amazing turn around. From new I did a 6 mile hike and it was like wearing my comfy trainers. Not one ache or pain and I was going up hill, down hill, climbing boulders and all sorts. They are absolutely brilliant and as long as the quality stays the same these will be the only boots I buy from here on out. Definitely worth the investment.

Ontario bookworm: These shoes are fantastic and comfortable. You can slip them on and not have to break them in at all before a hike. I love a good Keen and I'm happy to have found this shoe on sale.

My two qualms with the shoes are as follows:

1. The top clasps for the laces are made out of plastic, not metal. This just seems cheap and I'm sure they will be the first thing to go on the shoe. Columbia shoes use metal clasps but aren't nearly as comfortable on the sole as Keens, imo. But although the clasps are plastic, they initially hold the laces in place very well.

2. The inner sole is made of some sort of poly-plastic and it's noticeable, as your sock does slip a bit on it. I wish it had a better texture and was less slippery/smooth --something for Keen to think about for their next design. I might spray it with a fixative to give it some texture.

Anyhow, minus to the two points of possible improvement, I still highly recommend this shoe to anyone with shorter toes and a wider food box. I have osteoarthritis, morton's neuroma, and nerve damage in my toes. These shoes are so comfortable that walking doesn't bother my feet while wearing them. I can't recommend them...

jama: I bought these to replace my Targhee I and they're perfect. I really like these, because they're comfortable right out of the box-no need to break them in apart from walking around a bit to make sure you have the right fit and right socks. I got Sealskinz Solo QuickDry socks and they're perfect with these boots. I like the height of the boot as it supports my ankles (one of which has an old fracture) yet has some flexibility if so desired. The toe of the boot is well protected. It also has a roomy toe box for my bunions and I was actually able to hike in these with a broken toe (yes it hurt a bit but at least, the boot didn't press down on it and didn't allow my feet to slide around). My only quibble is that they're not completely waterproof but I knew that. If you walk through water, water may seep in through the top of the boot as there are some small textile type inserts but I've hiked in rain, mud and puddles and only once, did water seep in. My socks were a little damp but it wasn't a big deal. I will keep buying these boots; I love them. I also have the Keen water sandals and can't live without them.
