KastKing Blackhawk II Telescopic Fishing Rods - Ideal for Shore, Boat, and Ice Fishing

Beren: I travel a lot and I own 5 of these rods. I exclusively use these. They operate just like a normal fishing rod when fully extended. My only complaint and the only reason I’m giving this 4 stars and not 5 is because there’s no system in place to help the guides line up. There should be a dots or lines on the rod to help line up the guides. Other than that it’s the best travel rod on the market. Kastking reels are also very good as well. So check them out too.

Amazon Customer: you get what you paid for on this and a little more. Is this the best telescoping fishing rod out there? no not at all, but those better ones will cost twice as much. this pole will do the job very well. Its very light weight for being a telescoping pole, and it collapses to a very good travel size, it also stays locked in its extended form while fishing. If you depend on traveling with a fishing poll in a vehicle than this is the best way to do it. if you have a boat that you store fishing rods in, than I wouldn't get any telescoping pole. A telescoping poles only benefit is in its portability.
My only criticism with this pole is it doesn't come in a smaller length. would love to get one that comes under 6' fully extended.

Francois Michaud: Unfortunately, despite a lot of good reviews about this rod being one the best telescopic rods on the market, the tip was broken before I had the chance to try my first cast!

The mechanism to lock each section of the rod in the extended position is finicky and the reel seat is garbage.
I put my shimano spinner reel on the rod and tightened the collar all the way to the end and the reel was still too lose.
it kept falling off the rod…
Very disapointed, now I have to try and get my money back… I would not reccomend this product.

YUAN HAO: Always keep a rod in my car, after my old one broken, I checked some reviews online, and bought this on, surprisingly sensitive for a tele rod. Hope the seller will put mh or heavy rod on canada Amazon, I will take another one for sure

Todd Murray: The concept is good but it is frustrating to use. Too many eyelets, that spin around. Rod is fairly strong once extended. Recommend a small bait cast or spin cast reel

RandomNerdGuy: Update 6/3/20: I ordered another of these, this time in a 7'1 model from amazon warehouse. The listing said "like new" and I paid about $48 altogether. The package just arrived with a broken, badly scratched and dinged 7'1 rod packed in 2 separate pieces in such a way that it could not have possibly happened during shipping. The flimsy box hardly had a wrinkle in it. These rods are great, but never trust Amazon warehouse. This is twice I've ordered from them now and twice I've received defective or broken goods. Amazon warehouse is my worst experience on amazon so far.

I've had this rod (7'3 casting) out for several fishing trips now. It has performed well. It feels great in hand, casts well, and has given me no real problems in using it.

The rod is nice and small when collapsed, and the protective cover protects it well enough, but could be a little better and less bulky.

The rod itself is a bit heavy. It does not feel as agile or whippy as my 7'6 mh kastking resolute. It feels better geared toward wide-swinging, slower casts of heavy, bulky rigs like popping corks with jigs underneath, etc than quick, roll-casts of Texas rigs. It can still work for roll...

T.K.C.T.K.C.: Purchased the MH 7'0" rod. I've only used this for a few days - it has been hard to put down. Between casting on the new rod with practice plugs... I had a chance to break it out at two local ponds this morning and in the afternoon - casting off the banks. I've been looking for a rod that fit better in small 2003 Camry without barring off a good section of trunk space, and this fit the bill!

Caught a nice 3.92 lb largemouth bass this morning. The rod has great action, and I never had any concerns about the rod segments becoming loose and collapsing. Caught a half pound largemouth and a small pickerel in the afternoon, but my phone died.

My only other rods to compare are: Cabela Fish Eagle 7'0" med, and Ugly Stik Gx2 7'0" med.
Setup: Shimano Stradic 4000, 12lb Seguar red label.

Pros:
- Compact, the size is more convenient than having a two-piece setup up. I have a small 10L backpack that I fit this and an attached reel into (as well as a small waterproof tackle box, scale, and pliers), but a small length will stick out.
