Mohammad Ismail Amini: The test works on induction. When you stop the socket it starts beeping and if the cable is a little further you can adjust the sensitivity so that it detects more. A flashlight is also available.

Franck: Obligatoire à avoir quand ont touché à l' électricité. Il suffit uniquement de toucher l'isolant des fils électriques pour savoir si la ligne est sous tension. Vraiment très fiable, et solide.

DR Quest: First ever voltage probe tester. I'm old school and always used a multimeter to test for presence of voltage.
The wife and I had Christmas tree light issues and needed a probe to isolate the bad bulbs .
This works great for locating the presence of voltage in a series light circuit such as xmas lights.
Low range works best for locating power at the base of the light socket and near bulb.

Dr. Phil: I was wary of this after reading a bad review, and the default power-on state is "low sensitivity", you have to plug the tip into a outlet "hot" firmly ( I worried of breaking the plastic/metal tip), and even then it does not always work, But, if one activates the green light button ("high sensitivity") it is quite different, detecting voltage just near a receptacle and allowing one to trace along wiring.

Note: 2 x AAA "heavy duty" (not Alkaline) batteries preinstalled.

Edward Porter: Luckily I was smart enough to use this device when updating my outlets. I turned off the power at the breaker, but one outlet was wired to a different room for some reason. I just happened to be holding this device and heard it beep, even though I was not actively using it as I unscrewed the cover/plate. Saved me from the shock of my life for $10. Worth it!
