Yt: I am glad to see this thermometer works great. I like the modern style thermometer, and the LED screen is way better than others. It looks just like the picture, also come with two AAA batteries, an instruction manual, a quick start guide, and a cute storage bag. It is super easy to use, and pretty accurate on temperature. Compared to the one go under the tongue, I will definitely use this one as the primary.

Honest Consumer: We about this forehead / inner ear thermometer for my dad was dementia because we were kind of afraid that he was going to bite down on the oral type of thermometer. Even though it's not glass we just didn't want him accidentally biting down on anything that isn't meant to be bitten down on. So we got this and it seems simple enough. There is a Fahrenheit Celsius button there is a mode button which you want to get right because you don't want it to be on child mode if you're doing an adult. And then there is the on/off button which is also black and on the black part of the thermometer so it's kind of hard to see and I don't know why they didn't make the button a different color but you will find it it's the only button that makes the thing work. You should know that if you read the little manual that comes with it you will learn that if you want to take more than one temperature you need to wait 10 seconds between attempts. That's about it nobody paid me for this review and nobody sent me any products for this review. Go forth and be a nice person today.

tachikomatachikoma: I ordered this thermometer for my family and the readings have been consistent and reliable. I also love the clean design and good built quality. So I am pretty happy with my purchase.

Prior to my purchase, I did read some reviews on forehead thermometers in general (even some reviews here) saying it is not as accurate as oral thermometers, and then I brought the question to my own physician, to which he answered: we can take a temperature using the mouth (oral), anus (rectal), armpit (axillary), or ear (tympanic). However, the temperature readings vary depending on which one we use. It is common sense in the medical field that A forehead (temporal) scanner is usually 0.5°F  to 1°F  lower than an oral temperature. There is also a 0.1 °F to 0.6 °F difference between an ear and forehead temperature, which is considered normal and acceptable.

Even the medical research hasn't determined an exact correlation between oral, rectal, ear, armpit, and forehead temperature measurements. The rectal, forehead and ear temperatures are pretty good indicators even though sometimes they read slightly differently. I think people should do some research and...

JT: I purchased this thermometer because it seemed to be a cut and above the other units offered for sale on Amazon. This thermometer will be an excellent tool if you want a Fever/No-Fever gauge because it is not even close to being as accurate as an oral thermometer. In fact, the Amazon product description doesn't say this but the paperwork that comes with this item indicates that a test at the forehead is not as accurate as an oral reading. Had I known this before purchasing this thermometer, I would not have ordered it. What is the point of any thermometer if it doesn't display an accurate reading of temperature. In my case, the unit read 95 deg and my actual temperature was 98.1. On the positive side, the reading were consistent, but I don't want to speculate whether a reading of 98 with is unit means the subject has a fever.
