KC Baltimore: For $9.99 it's an okay product. It gets you in the ballpark, but you'll get a more accurate reading with a traditional mouth thermometer. I find that the readings are inconsistent at best. It's still within 2/10 (.2) of a degree of accuracy. It's fine for illness, etc. (home/work/school/camp) - if you are just trying to see how high your temperature is - or if it is trending up or down. But invest in a higher quality instrument if you need this to be very accurate for industry/manufacturing; or for basal temp/ovulation prediction.

E. ShererE. Sherer: For clarity, this is the CandyCare Smart Infrared Thermometer (sorry, I've written some reviews in the past which were misfiled).
I will say I grew up with mercury thermometers, which I still find most accurate but which are not available today for many reasons. Digital in-mouth thermometers are often quite accurate, but take more time and still require the under-the-tongue method, which can be difficult with small children (or if your nose is stuffed and you cannot breathe). So the concept of a forehead thermometer that DOUBLES as an in-ear thermometer is quite interesting.
(+) Form factor: Great! Not too heavy, but well balanced and easy to hold against someone else or on yourself.
(+) Response time: Excellent! I had to get used to NOT holding the Temp button, but just clicking it, but once I got the hang of it, fast non-invasive readings were simple.
(+) Visual: Large, easy to read numbers AND color coding (Green, Yellow, Red) based on the readings derived from the scan.
(+) Object mode: Very cool.. or hot :-). The Object mode lets you test the temperature of an object (light bulb, frying pan, car seat, etc.). I really like this capability,...
