DReaume: I bought this for my elderly mother who has poor eyesight. She was unable to see the alarm clock next to her bed during the night. This clock's face is bright green and she can see it over 10 feet away from the corner of her room without any problems. The numbers are large and as stated, very bright. I think it makes for a good nightlight as well.

Would recommend this for someone who has problems with seeing the much smaller alarm clock faces.

I am not reviewing the alarm or any other functions on the clock as she doesn't use any of them.

The Deans: Larger numbers on the face than we expected but you can dim the light at night so it doesn't light up the room. Definitely for Seniors.

CrystalClear: Works well, fairly accurate time (not much loss or gain), easy to read & large digits, bright enough. Back up battery works fine in blackouts & keeps the time. Durability is impossible to tell yet but so far so good. I'd purchase it again.

David Allen Rivera: Let's face it, they just don't make quality alarm clocks like they did many years ago. Now, it's the Wild West out there with so many to choose from, with names you can't pronounce, but it's like playing Russian Roulette. Most are made in China, you're not going to get away from that. I spent a couple hours on Amazon researching clocks, and to cover myself, ordered two different models. Fortunately I picked two winners.

I was looking for nice size alarm clock with large numbers. This fit the bill. It has a 3" digital readout with big, robust, green numbers. Kinda didn't like the green, but few clocks have numbers this big, so I can live with it. Would be nearly perfect with a nice cobalt blue. There is an adjustment wheel on the right side to dim it if you need to.

The unit is powered with an adapter that plugs into the back, between two USB ports to charge cell phones. Also on the back, is the compartment for the included CR2032 lithium battery back-up. In case of a power outage, the display will go blank, and the alarm will not sound, but your time and alarm settings will be saved.

Pretty much all the action takes place on the top, which is convenient. This...

Douglas Blake: Up front: if all you want is a big green clock this is a good choice. It's bright enough to read in a sunlit room and can easily be dimmed for night time.

Construction...
The casing of this clock is very sturdy and rigid. It should stand up for a long time if treated gently.
The small silver stand at the bottom can be removed (put fingers on the ends and pry it up gently) in which case the clock is more stable and quite sturdy.

The Display...
The digits in this clock are big enough to read all the way from the back of my dining room office to the far corner of my living room (~9 metres).
However; it is not enough to simply make the digits taller. To be easily readable over that kind of distance the spacing between digits has to be increased as well. Although perfectly clear at shorter distances, the digits on this clock are too close together for easy reading across my living room.

The display uses a continual "volume control" style dimmer which nicely enables fine adjustments in brightness. But this type of control is also prone to accumulating dust and at some point the display may start to flicker as you adjust the brightness.
