Shirley Howald: This feels quite flimsy in the hand and is of no use on our large, short-haired dog. It's ok for the smaller dog when the main shed is over but not at the beginning of the winter shed. I wouldn't recommend it for large dogs.

StretchDog:
This deshedder works incredibly well, however the fur comes out in an uncontrolled airborne flurry that flies everywhere. So, it's not great for indoor use on a dog that hates being outside. (We have the weirdest Labrador ever...) We ended up using other deshedder that capture the fur.
However, we've discovered that it makes the BEST backscratcher ever, and highly recommend it for that. We even pack it in our suitcase on vacation.
So, if you have a dog that you can groom outside, buy two — one for your dog, and one to use as a backscratcher! (Because sharing a grooming tool with your dog is kind of weird...)

ErinShannon: I ordered this for our border collie and it doesn't pull any of his hair off at all. Not even the top layer of loss stuff. He has a long thick coat and this does nothing but annoy him. I ordered this from America so it costs a fair bit and I was so excited and I'm just sad that it doesn't work.

Lynn:
I have two dogs: one with a thick, straight double coat, and one with a straight, short single coat. This loop is great for both of them. On the double coat dog, I'm pulling out enough fluff to make a second dog, making his coat much smoother and less "stuffed". For the single coat dog, I'm slicking off all her loose hair that otherwise makes straw-like piles in the house.
It also does a great job of schucking off dust/dirt--I find my dogs feel cleaner, shinier, and smoother after a pass of the loop, extending time between bath days.
Only word of caution is the wider tooth side was too sharp for my single coat dog. She can only tolerate the finer tooth side, as they are not as pointy and sharp on her skin. For the double coat dog, he can't feel the teeth through his extensive fluff, so I will do a first pass with the wide tooth side, then really dig in with the fine tooth side.
The loop is adjustable, but I haven't adjusted the loop size from the smallest, tightest "loop", as I find that gives me the most control. When the loop is looser, it moves the hair but doesn't have enough tension to pull the loose ones up and out of the coat.

Eve:
I've been wanting to try a brush like this for a while. When I stumbled upon a cheap one I jumped at the chance. I get to try it without spending a small fortune on a brush that may or may not work. It feels like a dollar store brush - cheap plastic. One of the sides to extend the metal teeth doesn't work. I also can't get it to come apart. I expected flaws like that, but be aware. It also doesn't grip fur like you would see in a normal brush. Be prepared for a LOT of flying fur. I suggest using it outside.
For my rabbits it works great! It got all the clumps out in seconds. Non of my cat brushes had done the job that quicky. I have a lion head and a generic shorthaired. I was done brushing in three minutes flat. As an added bonus it pulled out a TON of dirt from the shorthaired one.
For my cats.... Not so much. Sure, it worked great to get the chin zits off B, but that's about it. It also worked okay on my short haired cat. I think it got some of the dandruff off as well. But for my fine haired cats, or the one with a VERY thick under coat (think mountain cat breed) it wasn't fantastic. The fine haired ones it didn't really grip the fur well for...

Molly: My dog has a medium length, two-layer coat, and this loop removes a shocking amount of fur. It collects big fluffs at a time from her undercoat, but I still feel like I could keep brushing her for an hour and keep getting more. It definitely seems to have cut down on her shedding in the house since I've been using it the past few weeks. She also is much more tolerant of being brushed with this than with any other brush I've tried.

Courtney: I’ve tried almost every brush on the market. All of the popular ones and different types. This one works for pretty much every coat that SHEDS. It works wonders and the function where you can undo the loop and use two hands makes brushing go quicker and easier. I absolutely love this brush. It is sturdy and I only have to do about 1-2 brushes per shedding season. Buy this over any brush if you have a shedding dog!
