Michel Stone: John Pilger is a world journalism treasure. His superb documentaries, over many decades, are matched by his powerful and eloquent writing. Like Tom Joad, where ever there is injustice, he'll be there. If only we had more like him in the West!

Steve Yue: This is John Pilger - have followed and read many of his articles. Why I did not read his published books until now is beyond belief. That said, just a brilliant eye opener for those who think governments actually have the population at heart - please read

Azzy: Everyone should take time out to read this book by John pilger, one of the best investigative journalists ever. This will open your eyes to the tragedies and genocides being committed around the world by so called "Western" civilisations and "Democracy" advocates such as USA, UK, France, Australia and many more. Stop taking your news from the main stream media and learn what is really going on in the world. The genocide in East Timor is just one atrocity that needs addressing and governments brought to justice. Get this book even though it was written a few years ago. You won't regret it. You will be much wiser after reading it.

Franz Redel: This book should be read with Pilger's "The New Rulers of the World", and they will change your world-view forever. He author lifts the veil off international politics and shows how we in the West have systematically been lied to by our leaders. The heartlessness and the tragic consequences of their decisions will shock you. Where global ambitions and national interests are concerned, morality has no place. The week I spent reading these book brought on a spell of insomnia, I was so shocked.

A. Hogan: John Pilger, the Australian documentarian and journalist has collected some of most scathing recent pieces in this book. Like his kindred spirit Noam Chomsky, Pilger doggedly pursues the Truth as he sees it or finds it, as disturbing as it is,. Here, he seizes uopn the indifference on east Timor, Cambodia and the senseless.obscene embargo on Iraq.{the current president during the last campaign was asked about the situation in east Timor. Hiis response:"if the people of east timor rise up in revolt, I'll have a comment then." When informed that they had, in fact a YEAR BEFORE, he smiled and shrugged}Pilger and Chomsky and Ed Said and others are consigned to the "far left" part of the spectrum, only because in this country the enitre pictur is controlled by huge corporations, thereby far right wingers. This is so sad in that it leads to no debate, and no action. No wonder the political lanscape is so sterile, and that Pilgers words ring so true. The hypocricy on Cambodia and Iraq at high levels is repugnant. this book helps bring some of that darkness into light.

Kindle Customer: John Pilger the champion of the downtrodden is in his elements exposing the hideous and insidious agenda of the world right and immoral capitalists to sacrifice the poor at the altar of their profit and greed.
