Amazon Customer: The author wrote: " .... it would be helpful to have Margot Robbie in a bubble bath .... to explain those scientific terms." No, I don't feel this means she was respecting either me, the reader or the science she was trying to explain. Instead, it often felt like a rush of raw, first draft notes that made it into the published work. There is a lot of information in the this book and the author fails to kill the case for the lab leak theory. But, the book reads as if she were more interested in throwing the information out there instead of going the next step and editing it down to a clearer telling of a hugely important story. I am glad this book is out there and I do buy her case that Covid 19 was some sort of lab leak. Three cheers to her for getting this story out.

Len: Set aside politics and read this book with an open mind. From the time I read in an online magazine that the director of the lab expressed concerns about the work the military was doing in the lab without adequate personal to representatives of the US embassy I have strongly believed it was highly probablea lab leak was the source of the virus.

Lilycat's mom: This is the book that will tell you what was happening in Wuhan immediately before and during the loosing of the pandemic. Ms. Markson's research is detailed and persuasive. You will learn about the substandard safety conditions of Chinese government labs, the fact that "research" labs were under control of the PLA bioweapons experts, and about the persecution of brave Chinese journalists and researchers who tried to get the truth out. You will lose a lot of faith in your own (US) government when you see how much taxpayer money was going into Chinese gain of function and otherwise risky research under the control of those PLA bioweapons experts, and how the change of administration disrupted the efforts to determine the sources of the pandemic. You will be saddened by how most--but not all--Western scientists had financial and friendship interests in keeping the pangolin/bat theory of transmission alive long after it should have been dismissed, and engaged in behavior completely antithetical to norms of scientific inquiry. The book does bring out how the media, governments, politicians, and scientists are willing to compromise principles for fame and fortune.

JLG: Great read, and thanks to the author for exposing the evils of communism...

After reading this book, it reminded me of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986 where communist Russia just denied, denied, and denied there was a problem until the rest of the free world exposed irrefutable evidence. Only then, did they come (ahem) clean. In the meantime, neighboring countries were exposed to huge amounts of radioactive waste in their atmosphere.

Which now brings us to another communist country - China. They too, have denied, denied and denied ad nauseum the existence of COVID19. In fact, the original scientist that first blew the whistle on it (never a good thing to do in China). He died from COVID. We now all know that COVID-19 originated in China. The evidence is irrefutable.

Folks, communism is all about lying, subterfuge, deceit, domination and dictatorship.

This book is a must read.

Denis J. Kirkaldy: During lockdown I have read dozens of who dunnits. This was another one - although there was no butler and it was much more complex. As a result of reading it I have learned:
1. We live in a scary world where much is happening that we did not know about.
2. It is difficult to know who to trust. Scientists are shown to be self serving not scientific, journalists are taken in by lies, - where can we get information from.
3. America is a mess. Agencies meant to protect the world are controlled by people whose interest is in survival, not truth. Trade agreements are more important than truth. Hatred of Trump skews everything and Biden,s America is unravelling.
4. Scott Morrison and Australia come out looking better than most because they took a stand.
5. The idea that China is getting stronger and more powerful is frightening.
Thanks to Ms Markson for her hard work on this book. It was hard for a non scientist to read but she did a good job making complex material accessible to people like me.
It doesn’t take the hurt out of lockdown but at least I now know what caused it. And I am concerned about the safety of the world my grandchildren will inherit.

Mr. David Tutt: I brought this book just 2 days ago and have been reading it avidly whenever I get the chance. It seems the truth is out there if you are prepared to dig around and follow simple time lines and I think, so far in my reading that Sharri has done a wonderful job. There are other books out there that tell you the nature of the virus and more on the vaccine too and the story of how and why the science has progressed the way it has but this is a straight forward historic record which, once you understand the implications of those events it is startling how stupid the world is! I would like to say that this is going to be the last we have to think about the subject but conspiracy theory predicts even more trouble ahead and no doubt like most theory of that type they only take time to come true. Meanwhile if you read this then you might like to read a novel called "A Planet for the President" by Alistair Beaton which has some laugh out loud moments that fit very snugly into Sharri's fine work here and even though it is fiction you get to wonder if that very fiction was copied to create the current situation.....
