Elad: These are sharp and they prune roots, etc well without tearing or not cutting cleanly through, so this is good.. But they rust very fast if you don't clean and oil them...super fast. They are tight; so weaker hands may have difficulty using them. The openings in the handles are too big, awkward, and shaped wrong to fit typical hand/fingers. You have to open your hands very wide to open the cutting blades, especially for thick roots. My hands got tired fast using them. Maybe there is a 'trick' to using them I don't know, but very expensive for something that has these shortcomings. Not sure I would recommend them for a beginner

william: Lets first say, I loved these so much, I bought a second pair.. The first pair i bought was so sharp, would cut through some branches of 1 inch thick. Perfect for taking small cuttings off bonzai plants.
not only are these super sharp, but they also stay super sharp. The black carbon steel is harder than a rock, and u will have a fun time trying to dull these shears.
I also cut out an entire living room carpet with these, and that didnt even dull them 1 bit.
I highly reccomend these, and o r any other products from this line.
These scissors are high quality, made in japan, black carbon steel and will be with u for life!!
I love these so much im going to be buying a pair for everyone in my family for the holidays.

L: Sharp but a little pricey baby

edit: even though they get wiped out after each used the blades turnt blacked. I put vegetable oil afterwards and its was never wet so it's 1000% the metal as advertised but they need way more caring that a carbon japanese knife in comparison. I will try wd-40 for the removal of the dark stains.

Rick from Oakville: I bought these for my mother in law who is 83. She enjoys pruning her own plants. She is handicapped and needs to use her left hand. She is able to use these and they fit her hand nicely so that she can still do her pruning. I too was impressed with the feel of them and how they fit in my hand which is on the larger side.
